Hair Care Recipes!!!

I found these recipes online and was wondering if anyone has used them and if they are any good?

Egg Conditioner
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp olive oil
3/4 cup lukewarm water
Beat egg yolk until it is thick and light colored. Slowly drizzle drops of oil into egg, beating well. Slowly add and beat the water into the egg mixture. Transfer mixture to a container. After shampooing, massage all conditioner into hair and leave on for a few minutes before thoroughly rinsing.

Protein Conditioner
Beat 1 egg white until foamy. Add to 5 Tbsps plain natural yogurt. Apply to hair in small sections at a time. Leave in for 15 minutes. Rinse.

Split End Treatments
1) Mix 1 tsp honey with 2 Tbsps olive oil, then beat in 1 egg yolk. Massage on hair in small sections. Wrap head with shower cap for 30 minutes. Rinse and shampoo.

2) Massage hair and scalp with warm avocado or olive oil. Wrap hair securly in a towel. Leave oil on hair about 8 hours or overnight. If left on overnight, put a shower cap over head to avoid staining pillows and bedding. Wash hair, then rinse with a vinegar /water solution.

Hot Oil Treatment
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup boiling water
Place olive oil and boiling water into large glass bottle or jar with a lid. You may need to wrap a towel around the bottle to avoid burning yourself. Shake very well until oil is emulsified. Massage into hair, taking care not to burn your head. Put a shower cap or plastic bag over your hair and wrap your head in a hot towel that has been soaked in hot water then wrung out. Leave mixture on your hair for 1/2 hour, then shampoo as usual.

Just be careful about putting olive oil on your scalp; I've tried it a couple times and it always leaves me feeling horribly greasy. A lighter oil might be better, though of course the effects differ from person to person.

Eggs and honey are two of my favourite ingredients for hair treatments (but I don't suggest leaving egg in overnight; it really smells in the morning!).

All of these recipes are definitely worth a try. It helps to experiment with different combinations and amounts to see what works best for you personally.

8)Now that spring has really shown itself well in my part of the world, I am looking at all the stuff growing outside my window and wondering if it can be used in vinegar rinses or oils for my hair. And how to do that.

I have some lovely smelling lilacs right now and wondered if they would transfer to a vinegar rinse, or a lilac water (like the rosewater)?

I am waiting and hoping my small lavendar plant grows large enough this summer to use that in some vinegar (saw a recipe on the internet for this somewhere).

Suggestions?

Put on hair and cover with a heat cap for about an hour or wrap head on warm towels.

I already luuuve coconut milk for a moisture treatment. This is something new to try.

I've had good luck and bad luck with egg in a conditioning treatment. The best "hair witchery" with egg also supplies plenty of moisture. The egg supplies protein and little else as far as I'm concerned, so ya need to add plenty of ingredients to add moisture as well. That is to say an overabundance moisturizing compounds to the egg protein.

ETA:Boy that last sentence sounds like Foghorn Leghorn.

Too much protein can cause the hair to become "crunchy". Also, when rinsing out anything with egg, be sure to use cool water. Warm/hot water can cook the egg and in the process it will adhear to the hair shaft like glue.
