I like the immediate results but I may have to adjust the ingredients some.  It seems to weigh my hair down too much  Undecided

Really nice!  Smiley

I adjusted the levels to suit my hair a little better, and I made a smaller portion just for test.  I didn't measure anything out precisely so this is approximately what I used, 1/4 cup spring water, 1/8 cup aloe juice, 1 tsp jojoba oil.  I first washed with my all natural rosemary & sage shampoo bar, and then after I was out of the shower and had combed thru my hair I then sprayed in the mixture.  My hair felt very soft & looked very shiny and healthy, I am really pleased with it!

Thanks for posting that, Kimberlily!  Grin

I'd recommend keeping it refrigerated since you have no preservatives in it and I'm not sure what the shelf life of the aloe oil would be.

I will refrigerate it then, hope it's not already spoiled!  I only made a small batch, so it wouldn't be much loss.  Thanks BB!

Baby oil's structure is different - the molecules are too large to be absorbed by the hair, so the oil would just sit on the outside of the hair.  This would leave the hair with a greasy look.

Actually, it depends on how much baby oil is diluted with other things. I have used a solution of water, baby oil & aloe gel on the ends of my hair for at least a year & it has worked out fine.

That said, the jojoba recommended is probably best. It has a much lighter texture and can be absorbed easier by the hair without having to dilute it too much. Baby oil by itself would probably be much to heavy for this recipe...you'd have to do some proportion tweaking.  Wink

Would just like to notate that I've been using this stuff every day for 4 months, and totally love it.  In fact, I attribute my new longer length to it, it's kept my ends hydrated and healthy, which meant that I could go longer between trims.  Before this I was using straight jojoba oil, which is fantasic just on it's own, but I like the mixture because it's a little bit lighter for my type of hair, and I also like the control of the spray bottle.

Just wanted to update and share that.  Smiley

Ok, I have to try this.  I am going to make it up tonight for tomorrow.  I even have my own aloe plant so I don't need to go buy anything...and man do those aloes grow!!!  I love what it did to Kimberlily's hair.  I am right on it!!

I LOVE this.  As someone mentioned before, I love having the control using the spray bottle.  I found jojoba oil makes my hair greasy since I don't seem to be able to figure how much is right for my hair.  It takes a while to squeeze the aloe out of my aloe plant, but I end up with nice soft hands after the effort as a bonus.  It is a lot cheaper than the store bought product I have been using (and still do love) and does just as good a job.  Thanx for this recipe!!
