Everyone, I need your advice, input, and thoughts.

I had resigned myself to going grey and had stopped coloring and highlighting my hair over a year ago.  My hair is naturally very dark brown/nearly black with a great deal of grey and anything new that grows in is white.

However, the more I think about it, I'm only 33.  If it were all silver I'd go with it and think it was cool...but I'm sure I'll alway be salt and pepper (my mother was the whole time I ever knew her).  I don' think I like it.  I feel like it makes me look older than I am.

Should I just go with it and leave it alone or color it.  My grey is resistant to color but at  least my hair would be more evenly colored (at least I tell myself that). 

All the ladies I work with suggest coloring, but they don't realize I don't have the extra disposable income to go me my hair guy anymore....I'd have to do it at home myself.  (One of the girls I work with used to work at Sally's and said she'd help me find the right stuff for my hair--so it's not like I'm completely out on a limb.)

I don't want to damage my hair any more than it already is, but I don't feel like my hair looks nice this way. 

I know the decision is ultimately mine, however, I have terrible decision making skills and really need some input.

Tough decision - I understand completely.  My daughter in law has the most beautiful dark hair, but at 25 has significant silver/grey.  She feels too young to start showing her grey - I don't blame her.

If you really want long hair and disguise the grey, I'd suggest starting with trying the henna route.  At least it would not damage your hair as most permanent coloring does. 

If you must use a hair dye, check into Robert Craig's hair color.  I have heard that this line does not have the harsh chemicals and other long haired beauties use it.  I don't have any personal experience with it, but have only heard good things about it.

Learning to like yourself the way you are is a difficult thing.  Do you want to look like everyone else, or embrace the differences that make you unique?  Being 33 with silver streaked hair doesn't sound bad to me.   Maybe because I was, too.   The only reason I ever colored my hair was because I felt dissatisfied with myself and wanted a change, so that was an easy one to make.  Then came roots which needed constant maintenance, deciding which color and product to use, etc.  Personally, I have been happiest since I have decided to let my hair go gray.  I know that being 56 makes that easier to do, but don't think I don't get pressure to dye it because others think it makes me look older.  I think it makes me look like myself.  And I love it.

I'm not saying don't color your hair.  I'm just saying don't do it because other people think you should.  You will be beautiful either way!!!!
