Salon in Egypt?
Dec 16th, 2006 at 2:25am

I know this is a long shot, but I have to try.  My daughter and I are trying to grow our hair out.  Hers is BSL, and mine is about 3 inches shorter.  We went to a highly recommended salon last night, and the stylist's solution to the knots in my daughter's hair was to RIP THROUGH THEM!  Yikes!

We need the name of a salon and/or stylist in Cairo that understands long hair.  They also must speak English, as our Arabic is so minimal as to be non-existent.

Oh my!  I'm afraid I have no suggestions for you - good luck!  You may find that you are "on your own" caring for your hair in your situation.  Have you tried trimming your daughter's hair yourself?  At her length, it should not be that difficult, my hubby has done my hair trims for many years.

Gosh!  I wish I had something to offer.  Have you tried an internet search?  If you see any caucasian women with hair you think looks nice, ask them where they get it done-that's what I do when I'm new in town or not at home.

Good Luck!!!

I lived in Egypt for five years, but at the time I had only shoulder length hair which I got cut at a salon at the Marriott hotel downtown. However, I'm not sure how they'd do with very long hair. You could look at the major hotel salons, or ask around the expat community in Maadi. Good luck.

I went to egypt a few years ago and got a blowdry there only. It was at the hotel we were staying at the Sheraton in downtown Egypt. It was fine. Good luck!!
