I'm back to 20-3/4" after my curlygirl haircut in February.  That means she only took 1/2" off, and my hair lays better so I'm happy.  Now, if I could just get it to grow faster...

Yesterday, I started the day off with a nice 94cm/37.01in hair, just shy off tailbone length.
And I ended it with 82cm/32.28in. Not even waistlength now. Five inches chopped off.
I felt I had to, I hope the shedding will slow down now.
Hair looks more even and the same thickness allover now, as the length that got cut was thinner than the rest. But... I feel like I have a crew-cut now and certainly not any more a longhair.
I hope my hair and scalp appreciate the sacrifice.

Oh Greek Lady!  Embarrassed  I feel your pain.  It can be traumatic to have such a drastic cut.  But in a day or two I am sure you feel good about your even, thicker ends.  It will grow again - just be patient.

I'm right there with ya!!!  I've been due for a "trim" also and keep putting it off....1)don't trust anyone anymore to touch my hair and 2)am just hoping not more than an inch has to go.
Yes,the bright side is that it will grow so next month Greek Lady I think you'll be happier when you measure in to see some growth Smiley

It's the shedding I am trying to cast a spell against! Yes the ends are all even now, but they weren't too thin before, either.
I just felt that my scalp can't stand the weight or length or whatever of hair past waistlength. Don't know...
Anyway, thanks ladies for the kind words.

A flower for you

Thank you,Geek Lady.  I have had and had the same problem with shedding.  It may be the medicines I take or not.  Shedding is not a side effect of the meds.,but I did find that using Nettle Shampoo Bar helps decrease the shedding.  I use either Ida's shampoo bar or the one at Prairieherbs that has Nettle in it along with the vinegar rinse for brunettes, when I don't have time to make my own rinse.  It is very fustrating,I know to find hair all over the place!!!Maybe you'd want to give it a try and let us know how it works for you Smiley

Greek Lady, I know how hard it is to live with that much of a trim, but just think how healthy all the ends are!!!

Good morning all,  I had my mom measure my hair on saturday the 17th, and it is 40in long.  WOW!!  I am 5' 2" tall, or 60".  That means I only have 20" to grow until the floor.  Grin Grin.  I wonder what floor length feels like  Huh.  I am still trying to find a way to get a picture.

Well, finally after about a year I decided to get a trim Roll Eyes I figure I really needed it and it wasn't as much as I thought or anticipated.  I now measure in at 34 inches.  That's ok though,it's better to have healthy hair than splits.  So now it's still going to be a road to extremely healthy long hair!!! Cheesy  I now figure that by the time July rolls around and my cousin's wedding is 7/7/07, I should be at 35 1/2 inches.  We'll see...........

*twitches* Mine is STILL 30 inches. Still just pass my waist!! It's been there for like a year!  Angry
...And what's most annoying is that I know that the problem is (trimming to seldom and then having to take a lot) so I don't really have the right to wine about it either.   Tongue Wink
