Here we are in May already!!!  Are flowers and trees in bloom wherever you are?  Let's hope that as the flowers grow and bloom we all have nice hair growth during these warm months! Smiley

Curlgirl64,

I forgot to mention a lot of "blooming" is going on here now too!  Maybe my hair will take a hint and grow a foot or so!

Blah. Spring hit us in February.  Tongue

And unfortunately, it looks as if the "blooming" season is over for my hair. I'm at 24¾" this month...only ¼" progress from last month. *sigh*

Of course, I'm one of those backwards types whose hair grows faster during the colder months. With the weather warming up, the growth has slowed down.  Sad

Angel Spun,

You are not alone.  I had only about 1/4 inche this month too!  I guess my hair grows better in the winter as well.  Smiley

My yard is so pretty right now.  A lot in bloom!

Thanx for the reassurance, guys.  Smiley

It's just a bummer after growing ½" every month this year to have Nature suddenly hit the brakes. I was really looking forward to having a full 25" before the big trim on Sunday, but I guess it will still be ok. I'll get to reach both of my short term goals all over again in a few months. Something to look forward to, right?

wow. Um, I don't know what to say about this one. Even after the trim April 24, I was at 28'' almost exactly. Now, i'm at 27 3/4''... It Shrank 1/4 inch! Angelspun, did you steal my 1/4 inch? Tongue  j/k. yeah, bummed about that one. I don't think it's normal for hair to shrink when it's not seen scissors, right?

LOL  Grin  Sorry, Kiraela, but I lost ¼" of the normal growth too. If I had stolen yours, I'd be at 25."

Perhaps your hair was wavier when you last measured it than when it was trimmed? Stylists will pull the hair straight while they're trimming so the ends will be even, so perhaps your waves were pulled straighter when you measured afterwards. Now they're just doing what they do naturally. Just an idea.  Huh

I'm still at 21-1/2".  I'm suspicious that last month the measurement is off.  I have a trim on the 15th of May.  I hope to have only 1/4" taken off.

OOH. 34? I can't wait 'til mine is that long, curlgirl!
And it appears I was measuring wonky, as you suspected, Angel Spun.
Instead of 27 3/4... I'm at 29 1/2''!  I must have measured wrong after my trim... I refuse to believe I grew 1.5 inches in about 3 weeks. (I wish, though!) Sheesh.. I could probably hear it growing at that rate!

even allowing an inch for my bad measuring(she was supposed to cut off 2'', from 31'' to 29'', and she said she went a bit over), I had to have gained about 1/2 inch, though.

Sad I miss my 36 inches, Kiraela! You and I will get there though, Wink  Why is it that when we get a trim from "someone" other than a trusted friend or spouse;they say they went over a bit????   Roll Eyes  I believe that when I say take 2 inches off, I mean take 2 inches off!!!  Jeez, what are ya gonna do with these scissor happy people?!

36?  wow Shocked.  That must have been gorgeous.

eh, she's not that bad, really. She was trying to get off as many splits as possible, which I really can't blame her for at all! And it did come out looking nice, although I think I want to go back to the nice, natural looking U-shape I previously had... Flat just looks sort of odd on me, I think.

But most everyone else I meet isn't allowed within 2 feet of me when they're holding scissors! Not even my mother and she loves my hair. Heck, I even put it up in a bun before cutting something for fear my hair will slip into the blade. (I think I'm getting paranoid.....)

well, Onward and Downward, friend's hair!

Alright, I measured after the trim this morning, and the new measurement is....

23¼"....at least I think.  Undecided  My hand was shaky and I couldn't see the lines on the tape measure exactly, but I do know that it's between 23" and 23½."

With any luck at all, I might still get ½" of growth before June 1st. *crosses fingers*

lol! Kiraela,I thought I was the only one who put my hair up out of any harms way when cutting something!!! Shocked  I'm paranoid about my hair,I know that! I won't let just anyone come near me with a pair of scissors either!  Glad you were happy with the outcome!
Thanks for the compliment, too!  Heck we take too much time, care, money and patience to let just anyone do whatever to our hair!!!
I'm also very particular about who touches my hair, too!

On May 2nd, my hair measured 41 1/2 inches.  It took 2 weeks to grow 1/2 inch.  I decided to cut my hair according to the moon.  So, I took off 1 1/2 inches, now measures at 39 inches.  I am gonna see if cutting by the moon has any truth to it.  I plan to just keep the dusting done thruout the general body for the next 3 months and see how fast it will grow.  This could be fun.

Thanks Curlgirl, I think as long as I continue to oil b4 washing, and keep the general body dusted for splits, my hair should grow well for the next 3 months.  Should I measure each month, or wait the full 3 months?  My hair is already growing an inch a month, so I am going to see if this has an effect on it.  Maybe I will grow 2 INCHES EACH MONTH.  Now that would be glorious!!  I know, dream on.

If you'd like to measure every month, hey I'm all ears!  I'd be curious to see how much your hair grows since the last moon change.  Sounds like maybe I'll go back on to the Morrocan site to refrsh my memory on a few things there.  Was that the correct site you were using?

Good Morning Curlgirl,  yes, it is the one Bikerbraid sent to me.  I think I titled it Cutting with the moon somewhere here on the boards.  Might be under in the thick of it.  I copied the whole schedule for the year so I can cut for either length, thickness, retardation of growth, beauty etc.  It was a recent post,  I am thinking last week perhaps.
Check it out.

Well after my trim in April and Debr talking about trimming your hair by the lunar moon changing,I decided to try it too!  I printed out the chart(thanks,Debr Wink ),noticed that the trim I had in April fell on one of the days that was on the chart so I thought that I'd either trim in July after my cousin's wedding and measure before to see how it went.  I also decided to go by the chart for retarding hair growth.  I've been following it and have shaved my legs twice in two 1/2 weeks!  I was shaving my legs 2 or 3 times in a week.  So there is some serious truth to this.  I can't wait to measure my hair growth come June 1st.  After the trim in April I was at 34 inches, coming from 36.  Let's see what happens................
