Thanks, Trisha.  I didn't get the part.  I'm not asian enough, which is pretty funny since I'm about as pale, blond and blue eyed as it gets.  Oh, well.  I think I'll be auditioning for "Beauty and the Beast" in the spring.  Can't help feeling a little bummed, though.

One the bright side, I'll have more time to teach a new Friday morning yoga class at the personal training gym I work out at.

I'm off to get a scalp massage...

Aww  *hugs*  Well, that's okay, sweetie.  Think of this as a practice--now you've gotten the rejection out of the way, you can focus more on the upcoming spring project.   Cool

(((hugs back)))  Thanks, Trisha.  I'm super proud of myself that I went through with the audition, regardless of the outcome.  Actually I made it very far, a lot of women auditioned and didn't get called back.  Only 10 of us were called back for 9 spots and then they actually only took 7 because they wanted to stay with the asian/dark looking ones.
I will be brushing up on my dancing, I want to be more comfortable with that part of the audition.  I don't have formal dance training, just hula and bellydance.
My voice teacher is the music director for the show, so she shared a lot of what went on in the decision making and how I did and knowing that makes me feel better.  Both the director and his wife asked me to come back and audition for future shows.   Smiley

I'm going to start doing more deep conditioning, I can't seem to get these split ends under control.  Argh.

Sorry you didn't get the part. I'm optimistic that you'll get a part in Beauty and the Beast should you audition. Smiley

I've lost a few acting jobs because of my looks too.  It's especially frustrating when you get postitive feedback after the audition, only to find out later that they've decide to go with a different type of look.  Unfortunatley, that just comes with the territory sometimes.

Thanks, LD.  It was a bummer and now I'm over it.  Moving forward!!!

Last Saturday I started a dance class that's specifically for musical theatre.  It was suuuuuper fun!!!  Its very laid back and we'll learn the basic stuff you need to be able to do for auditions.  Yipppeeee!  I do love to dance.

The last 3 times I've washed my hair I've done a deep conditioning.  I now have no visible spit ends.  Guess its more deep treats for me!!!

I've ordered 2 products from moptop.  They specialize in curly hair and I'm looking forward to trying the deep conditioner and leave in spray.

I've got several holiday parties coming up-I'm going to do a Christmas fantasy do for one of them.  Michael's craft store has great christmas piks for wreaths and silk flowers I'm going to use for my do.  I just watched "Enchanted" for the first time and that inspired my idea.  I haven't decided if I'm going to buy a new dress or not.  My old red one was strapless w/elastic at the top that wore out.  I love to wear a red dress.

Last night I got a most welcomed, tho' unexpected phone call.  One of the women cast as a wife dropped out and they asked me to replace her.  I'm in the show!!!!!!!  Whoo hoooo!  Yippeeee!!!  I'm so excited!!!
Rehearsals start in January.

I'm going to try to get in to see my curly girl haircut lady in Tuscon this month instead of waiting until January or February.  My hair need proper shaping soooo badly.

YAY!

Thank you, Trisha and Curlgirl!!!

I've been super sick with the flu for a week now.  I'm still sick and struggling.  I hope none of you get the flu-this one is nasty!

Hubby got me a comb from Ric the Combmaker for christmas and I love, love, love it.  I see why so many who own his combs say they'll use nothing else.

I've been keeping my hair in 2 braids whilst sick and it has been a good thing.

I have a trim with my Curly Girl hairstylist on the 23rd and it can't come quick enough!!!  I'm so unhappy with how my hair looks right now it makes me want to cut if off!  I won't, of course, it will look great with the CG haircut and I will have about an inch taken off.

I hope everyone here on LongLocks stays healthy this holiday season!!!

So far I really like the Mop Top products I've tried and I just got the travel pack so I can try the shampoo and daily conditioner.
