The Hair Saga Continues

Monday I wound up doing a CO because I got scuzzy from exercising. Same thing yesterday. The first I tried with some of the leftover conditioner I have lying around the second was with my deep treatment. Neither of which seemed to do anything of use.  Undecided Cry Tuesday was regular wash day with my first coconut oil treatment that I left on for an hour. I'm not sure if I used enough.  Undecided But there's no difference. Been using one single drop of AKO after any sort of a wash helps in the most infinitesimal way or I'm merely imagining things.  Roll Eyes Probably the latter.  Grin

So I don't really know if the coconut oil, given time and using more, will work or not. Really running out of ideas on this one. And I'm quite frankly glad I wear my hair up all the time because it's a completely embarrassing knotty puffball otherwise.  Tongue Sad Cry

Weather's psycho again. We had bad thunderstorms Tuesday morning, then it's been very humid and warm. Today we're in the low 60's with rain.  Huh Yeah I don't really get it either.

All my nails are finally the same length.  Cool Shocked Cheesy So today I did a French manicure.  Cool Now their long and perty.  Grin

Sounds like typical east coast weather to me. Particularly very near the Atlantic. Wink

Actually us getting into the 60's at all at this time of year is weird. Our average is in the uppers 70's and we usually stay there or into the 80's. Trust me I can't easily recall a time where I wore a sweater in June and was comfortable.  Grin Cheesy Something's up. LOL  Cheesy

So today. Started out odd...
So we're driving into town from the sticks. And the traffic starts backing up like work traffic. Someone's going only 40mph and the speed limit is 55mph. They do this for sixteen miles. When we finally come to a place where we can pass them, we've been thinking must be some 900 year old fogey, turns out it's a twenty something girl.  Shocked Even I went 65mph on the bypass with only my permit.  Roll Eyes I was like w...t...f...?  Huh She even used her breaks on this not too steep hill, must have been scared to go over 40mph.  Grin

Later on it rained like the end of the world... It rained and rained and rained. There was street flooding and everything. My jeans totally got soaked at one point.  Tongue And my feet were wet.  Angry And I was cold.  Tongue It rained for three hours over the same area so we were out in it for quite a bit.  Tongue It wasn't the heaviest rain I had ever seen but it was the heaviest rain I had ever been out in.

Yesterday was wash day with a WTC which I'm still unsure if it does anything.  Undecided Used humidity spray which helped a bit got hair up in a ponytail at crown then did a rope braid and tucked it up and secured with another hairtie. Used the AKO again makes a small difference I guess. It seems to help with the dry feeling a bit.  Undecided

When I got home I changed into sweats and socks and warms slippers because my feet were so cold. Then I had hot chocolate with some cranberry bread and peach butter from the farmer's market. I can't believe I had hot chocolate in June.  Shocked Now that I know is a first. That and I'm still in my sweats and am comfortable.  Shocked

Just hope I don't get sick from being wet and cold.  Tongue

Wash Day

Alright Sunday I wore my hair in a braided bun because I forgot I had wanted to try something else.  Roll Eyes

Yesterday was wash day with another round of the coconut oil. Needless to say I've neglected to mention that coconut oil smells like vomit as I'm washing it out. ... Thankfully the scent of my shampoo and conditioner cover it up nicely.  Smiley It does seem to be working though. Hair feels softer and seems more manageable. Albeit we have slightly lower humidity so it will be tested in the coming days. Hopefully I may have finally found an answer.  Smiley

My manicure lasted one day before it chipped off.  Tongue I knew the brand was awful and yet I bought it anyways.  Roll Eyes Needless to say they will be cleaned off and left bare as usual.  Roll Eyes

So more rain and cool weather for the next few days starting tomorrow. We had storms a couple days ago.  Tongue Heard tell that we'll be stuck in this lousy pattern until July.  Angry Tongue This looks likely to be the first June in at least ten years where we won't hit 90°.  Shocked I mean I hate the heat but wearing sweaters and longsleeves is a bit absurd for June.  Roll Eyes

Mmm, hair vomit. Grin

It is weird being able to wear long sleeves and jackets in June, but I'm certainly not complaining! Wink

Update

So Friday was wash day. A typical WTC. Hair's hanging in there, but still has a ways to go.

Sunday I did a flipped ponytail with the length braided. Used humidity spray because it's yucky out there.  Tongue Hair feels dry already.  Tongue Bought some more deep treatment. It's getting a workout around here these days seeing as my mom's using too.  Roll Eyes

It's been raining and cool for what feels like forever now.  Tongue Yesterday did turn out pretty nice which was surprising. But notice as soon as I start to complain... they're forecasting 89° for Saturday.  Shocked Angry Me and my big mouth.  Roll Eyes

Tomorrow is another coconut oil treatment. Hair is improving each time so we'll see how this one goes.

Updation

So last week I started doing proper CWC's. See before I was still shampooing the length. When I read about them again I realized I was doing them wrong.  Roll Eyes Quel suprise.  Roll Eyes So after the coconut oil I did a CWC and a again on Friday, which was actually a CWTC. Hair is still as dry as ever but I don't think shampoo directly on the length helps things any.  Tongue Oiled Wednesday, Friday and twice yesterday.

Yesterday's style was a bun.

Bought some Shea Butter to mix with my deep treatment and I've started using it on it's own. It made my hair feel a lot better when I tried it yesterday however it was just as dry this morning and it needed some more.  Tongue Something tells me more then my treatments and leave ins need to change...

Speaking of which I know what shampoo and conditioner I want to try next.  Cheesy Albeit I have to use up the remaining Aussie I recently purchased,  Tongue hopefully shouldn't take more than two months.  Roll Eyes

Bought some hangers yesterday to finally get rid of the last of the old yucky wire hangers still living in my closet.  Tongue Angry Also got some more Lindt.  Cool

Time To Update Again

So routine is modified slightly again. It includes occasional CO washes, like one last week, due to exercising in the blasted humidity.  Angry Tongue Coconut oil routine Tuesday. Have been using AKO or SB (shea butter) on the length. I tried it just out of the shower but it didn't make any difference.  Tongue Roll Eyes And Thursday I added SB to my deep treatment for the first time.  Cheesy My hair loves it!  Cool It's looking better all the time and since Thursday I've only needed to oil then length instead of SB.  Cool Things are looking up.  Wink

Friday's style was a French braid, which the tail wouldn't stay braided.  Angry Tongue Probably because I forgot to use product.  Roll Eyes

Bought some more Lindt.  Cool

Had to cut my nails back as too many of them have broken.  Angry Tongue

We finally got rid of the stupid rainy pattern which was no longer fun as it had become very warm and very humid.  Tongue Which meant our "rain" was mainly thunderstorms.  Tongue However as of yesterday, and through the rest of the week, we'll have fabulous summer weather with low humidity, a pleasant breeze, and temps in the upper 70's low 80's and no rain.  Cool Yep if you must have summer this is the weather you want.  Cool Smiley

Oh and I made $11.80!  Cheesy So I do know what I'm doing.  Grin Cool It's not much but this is only meant to be a supplemental income anyways so, any money is good.  Wink Smiley Cool

So What's Been Going On...

Tuesday was the fabulously lousy smelling coconut oil treatment. Seriously wonder if my hair likes it, it still needs to be oiled the next day as opposed to shea butter treatments.  Undecided Speaking of which that was Thursday. I think my hair likes the combination of shea butter and my deep treatment. Hmm...

Oiled everyday except Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. However hair actually needed it on Sunday so I wound up double oiling today.  Roll Eyes

Saturday's style was a braid with this dyed silk scarf, I got from one of my friends as a birthday present my sophomore year, braided into it. A girl who works at the farmer's market said it was cute.  Smiley Roll Eyes

Sunday's style was a bun with two rope accent braids. Got asked a question by a I guess you could say cute, I've gotten extremely picky with age Roll Eyes, guy at church.   Roll Eyes I find 90% of people very aggravating, and as opposed to most gals I find guys noticing me to any capacity extremely annoying as opposed to flattering.  Roll Eyes But that's me and I have my reasons.  Wink Of course afterwards my mom asked me if I had thought he was cute.  Roll Eyes Oy mom! Talk to me about five years ago when I wasn't as picky. But trust me I couldn't be his type, I'm too much for 90% of devout Catholic boys.  Wink Roll Eyes Grin Seeing as I want to do lots of things they way you're not supposed to.  Roll Eyes Cheesy...

Another round of Lindts was had Saturday. Got myself some oil perfume. So now I smell loverly like Jasmine.  Cool

Went clearance rack shopping. Scored a cute green blazer for $7.20, originally $72!  Shocked Cool And A 7/8 sleeve royal blue open neck polo $7.80 originally $39.50!  Cool Yep I'm the queen of the sales racks. My mom found nothing.  Cheesy

Oddly enough Angel mentioned recently doing the same thing.  HuhI did my brows today, I tend to forget them.  Embarrassed Hey pain suxs end of story.  Grin

Nails are back to growing out in good order.  Cool

S'pose that's it.

Same here, kinda. Any guy who approaches me in a bar only has to learn once. Bloody creepers. Grin
Anywhere else and I usually don't flatter myself enough to think he's interested in that "special way." Roll Eyes But if he makes his *ahem* intentions known, it becomes too awkward to bear and I'll hide from/avoid him. Social anxiety est magnifique!

I usually have to make a point to convey that I'm not their type, it's for their own good really.  Grin

The all do seem to have their moments don't they.  Roll Eyes Grin

So the week before last I had a CO wash mixed in due to heat and humidity.  Tongue Last week I decided to try two shea butter treatments instead of one coconut oil and one shea butter. The coconut oil thing is a pain in the @$$ and makes my hair smell horrible.  Tongue Angry The shea butter takes 3mins.  Roll Eyes Smiley Hair seems about the same. I know it's because I need better shampoo and conditioner.  Roll Eyes Must get through the lot I have first.  Roll Eyes

Had to throw out one of my shower caps. It was greasy and stretched out.  Tongue Down to one now will need to pick up some more soon.

Saturday's style was just a braid due to the fact that I had to shower Saturday morning.  Tongue Angry Thunderstorms interfered with my wash time as is typical in my world.  Roll Eyes Tongue  Angry

Sunday's style was called the Grecian. It was basically a ponytail at the crown with more ponytails spaced 2" down the length with the hair loosened a bit in between. I accented it with my two crystal bobby pins. One of which is missing a crystal.  Angry

Discovered that my perfume turns rancid after awhile.  Huh WTF?  Undecided Not sure what I'll get now.  Sad

More Lindt Saturday.  Roll Eyes

Nails are growing nicely.  Cool

They've called this "The Year Without A Summer" because it's been so cool for the most part. Right now it's rainy and cool.  Cool They say the pattern will basically continue except it will be warmer and humid starting tomorrow. Tongue  However they are calling for a cold and exceedingly snowy winter!  Cool Shocked Smiley Wink *does a happy dance*

So Sunday I got knocked over outside by my psychopathic Lab. Ow. My shoulder/arm hurts like crazy. My leg's better but still bothersome.  Tongue Angry Damn nut job.  Angry One can only truly understand if they've owned a Lab.  Wink They're in a league of their own.  Roll Eyes Grin Cheesy Still can't understand why they're the nation's #1 dog breed.  Roll Eyes Grin Wink

My apologies if you already know this, but perfume will turn after a long period of time.  You can make it last longer by keeping it in a dark place like a drawer or at least out of direct light.  Also, don't keep it in the bathroom because the frequent temperature and humidity changes can cause it to turn faster.  HTH
