A trim every 6 weeks?!  I thought that was only for short haired people who want to keep it that way.

I'm sorry about the trip.  Reg. your MIL.  My late paternal grandmother was the same way too. Roll Eyes  She did it to grandpa and later she did it to my dad all the time when she rode in the back.  I'm sure all good intentions were there.  I say "did it to" because it really felt that way.

Friday 3 March  April 2009
Hair  Wash day; hair is down.   Smiley  Yes, a 6-week trimming schedule is normal for people who want to keep their hair short or at a certain style.  But you know me...I just can't seem to stand not to be growing my hair.  I probably won't go below BSL ever again.  But as long as I have enough to make some sort of bun or twist, I'm good.   Cool

Other  Listening to Disturbed's Indestructible cd this morning.   Cool  Gets the blood flowing.

Plans for the weekend--rest!  Oh, the laundry will get done and whatnot.  But I'm counting on a nice, quiet two days of tranquility.  *fingers crossed*

My hummingbirds (yeah, MY hummers, as if they belong to me!  LOL)  should be arriving within two to three weeks.  It's usually around mid April when I spot the first scout.

Hair  No-wash day; hair is up.  I've been using mousse lately, so it's probably time for a vinegar rinse.

Other  One of my coworkers is using the spare pc in my office this morning because hers is being debugged.  I hope her machine is fixed soon because she's wearing old lady perfume with a powdery base that is making me gag.   Tongue

Have an appointment with my dentist tomorrow morning to replace a filling.   Sad  I have only the one filling and that one has lasted since 1976!  So I'm trying to not be nervous but...........

Don't worry ,it'll go fine!!  I also had a filling replaced that I had since I was 13 and it was replaced when I was 43!  (Knock on wood or my head!) I haven't had a cavity since I was 14!  The way dentists do things now and the materials they now use are great!

I hope the filling went well.  One of my boys had a filling for the first time recently and he didn't feel neither that nor the drilling.  He fell asleep even though they'd only used a local anestetic.

Ask her which one it is because I might like it. Cheesy  My preferences and even my body chemistry is prone to frequent changes and right now my chemistry prefers the sharper green/citrusy/white floral ones.

Aww, no need to be nervous. Curlgirl's right - dentistry has come a long way in 30+ years. Fillings are basically a breeze. Last year, I had 2 done in under an hour. No sedation or anything. And they basically had to reconstruct the back of one molar because it had broken off. I was amazed at how quick and easy the entire process was.
You'll do fine. Smiley Oh! And ask for the white porcelain stuff - it's well worth the price. Wink

Hair  Wash day; hair is down.  Did a vinegar rinse this morning.

Other  Man, you gals aren't kidding about replacing a filling being quick and relatively easy.   Smiley  My dentist, a great guy, by the way, asked if I wanted to be numbed or not.  I said I didn't know.  Let's try without, he says, and we can always stop if you need [it].  Okee-dokee.  There were a couple of places that gave me reason to curl my fingers into a fist, spots that had decayed underneath the filling.  But the rest was fairly easy and I'm glad I chose not to have the nummy-numbs.   Cool

Oh, I have my office back, thank goodness.  Drear, if I think about it later I'll ask my coworker what scent she was wearing yesterday.   Wink

Sweet deal, Trish. Smiley
And I was wrong about when I had my latest fillings done. Apparently, it was a few years ago, not last year. Embarrassed Time's fun when you're having flies, I guess. But I do remember asking for a 2nd shot of novocaine...and not being able to smile properly for hours afterwards. Grin

Hair  Wash day; hair will be down all day.  As far as Pantene Volumizing shampoo and conditioner goes, I see no difference between those and normal products.  *shrug*  A good mousse accomplishes just as much or more.

Other  The university where I work will be closed tomorrow, so Yours Truly will have a three day weekend.   Cool  Can't argue with that!

Hi, Trisha.  When I first read your post, I thought you said that a "mouse" accomplishes just as much or more.  Guess I'm not awake yet!

Enjoy your 3 day weekend!!!  After your trip, you really deserve it!

Pantene Volumizing S&C are lighter than their Classic Clean counterparts. They don't add volume to your hair. They just don't contain as many conditioners so your hair is lighter and more responsive to volumizing products (ie. mousse).

And wooooot! 3 day weekend! Cheesy

Hair  No-wash day.  I've got the front part of my hair brushed straight back and kept in place with a headband.  This accomplishes three things;  one, the not-so-fresh hair looks good--two, keeps the hair out of my eyes--and three, the brushed back hair hides the thin spot at my crown.   Cool  I may wear this style more often.

Other  I'm on a skirts-only kick of late, perhaps it's spring fever.  I don't know.  I like wearing skirts anyway, no matter the reason or the season.

Hair  Wash day, hair is down.  It's probably about time for some curls.   Smiley

Other  On Sunday I noticed I kept feeling colder and colder--VERY unusual for me, as I'm so hot natured anymore.  Hubby noticed that the heat wasn't kicking on.  Long story short:  the heat exchanger on our furnace is cracked.   Sad  And that's something which cannot be repaired.   Sad  So today we're having a new furnace installed.   Sad    Tongue  But, you know, $2400 is a lot less than what I imagined it would cost.  Hey, at least we have that much in our savings account (just) and the furnace did not die in the dead of winter.  *sigh*  It's always something.

Hubby is interviewing for a temporary job this morning, one that could possibly turn into full-time employment.  He would be the custodian of the church his mother attends and this would be an ideal job for him.  Keep your fingers crossed...
