I'm so sorry to hear about your mother! That really really, well. That just sucks. The words, they just fail me.

Hope your dress fitting goes okay, though, and that you get some holiday cheer in the next couple of weeks.

Thank you, Curlgirl64, Drear & KNS.  I've been avoiding thinking about it so I haven't written in my journal lately.

As for holiday cheer-hubby gave me a Garmin nuvi 205 for Christmas and I love it.  He was so funny, once he got it he couldn't wait to give it to me-he didn't even wrap it!

We spent most of today doing two things: putting away the rest of Halloween decorations and making French Pot Roast.  OMG-this is the best recipe ever!!!  Sooooo goood!

I finally got around to ordering some amla powder-I can't wait to try it out with my cassia.  I might do my cassia tomorrow w/hubby's help again as I am way overdue, then do cassia/amla in about 3 weeks.

I've been invited to a birthday/NYE party-I'm thinking about doing some henna on my hands for it.  I don't have any particularly cute outfits so I might wear one of the samping I got in Indonesia this summer with a sweater.

Got my trim rescheduled for Jan 5.  I'm actually looking forward to it.  I'm going to teach my hair person how to plop!

I'm sitting here with cassia mud on my head.   I think I'm going to get a nice gold color on my *gasp* greys!  I've never had greys on my head before this year.  Within the last 6 months more have shown up.  I want my hair to be shiny and healthy so I'm not really worried about covering my grey hair, only that they'll show the color the most.  It is quite subtle.  I'm leaving it on for at least 3 hours, perhaps more depending on how runny it gets as it heats up under the plastic wrap, turban and bamboo wrap I have on my head.

Hmmm.  I used 300 grams of cassia and it still didn't give total coverage.  I'm going to use only water next time and possible add some amla.  I might do an amla treatment by itself to see what happens before adding it to the cassia.
The hair on the top of my head has a gold hue, my ends are quite coppery.  I left it on for 3 hours.

Last night I did some henna on my right hand.  The back of my hand turned out quite pretty, but I started to run out of paste as I got to my palm so I'm not very happy with what I was able to accomplish while squeezing the crap out of the bottle.  My hand was shaking 'cause I had to squeeze so hard.  Oh well.  I don't feel like paying for express shipping to try to get more paste by Wednesday.   Tongue

Today I got an ekg at the doctor's office.  In a couple of weeks I'll have a 24 hour monitor and then a stress test.  Yippee.  I've been having palpitations for 4 or 5 days now.  I'm really not enjoying them.  Doc says my heart is healthy but with my super lousy family history of heart disease we're gonna do the tests just to be sure.

I'm bummed they had to cancel rehearsal tonight-I was looking forward to it.  Was supposed to be improv games.

We got a wii for Christmas with our points from the MC.  Played bowling and tennis last night-much fun!

My amla arrived today, I think I might use it on my hair in another week.  I also want to try it on my skin and see what that does for me.

My hair has massive volume right now.  I tried on an old snood today and it was so full it looked like a pillow.  I think my hair looks weird-like there's an imbalance of volume to length.

I'm going to go take a nap.  Laters, and Happy New Year, everyone!!!  Enjoy the Blue Moon.

Sakina, I am sorry about your mother. I know what it is like to have a relative live with cancer. Make the most of the time you have and try to focus on the positive. There is always support from your friends here.

You have a happy new year! Smiley
