Boring hair?
Feb 15th, 2009 at 11:13am

I've noticed at my length all I ever seem to do is keep my hair half up half down,in a ponytail or down.I'm getting boring and having second thoughts on grwoing my hair out.I'm at 23 inches and my hair has gotten frizzy as well(I live in a very humid climate even in the winter apparently).I haven't had my hair cut by a professional sicne September because last time she cut off an inch when I asked for a trim!(She said it'd grow back in a few months and I was thinking," Yeah but it took me two months to get that inch!)

But anyway I ahve a lot of shorter layers in my hair so it's hard to do braids easily(the shortest layer is at my chin but still...)

any cute braiding, bun, twists you could think of?
I love being able to ask such cool people my weird questions.

Hi there Smiley  You can do french twists and buns and then you can curl the front for a cute look.  You could also braid the front pieces and attach them to the side of you head.  I know how you feel aout asking for a trim and getting too much off.  Me, I am very frim and vocal about it. I tell the hair dresser I am growing my hiar long and this is only a trim.  I have them show me how much they are cutting off as well.  My last trim was two inches at my request and they did as I said to which was nice as this is my new hairdresser.  Good luck with styling you hair  Cool

You could try little variations of your current faves. Like instead of a ponytail, try a flipped ponytail. Instead of a simple half-up, try a braided half-up. Instead of just wearing your hair down, try wearing a stylish headband. You could also try a bun (if the layered ends spike out, that's fine) or adding little decorations to your styles. Smiley HTH

Start practicing your french braiding skills by french braiding each side to meet at the back for a ponytail.  Or, as another variation of this, do rope twists on each side to meet at the back.  Learning to do this when your hair is shorter is easier than when it is longer.
