Hi, Curlgirl, I would love to send you a PM, but I can't.  I see that I am back to being an ex-member again, not to mention that when I tried to log-in this pm, I got a notice that my password and user name didn't match.  So now I have a string of random letters as a password, that I will NEVER be able to remember and considering the way way things have been going, I don't dare try to change it.  WHAT the h--- is going on?  I am verging on p----- off!

Okay.  I am sort of simmered down.  I will try to change that stupid password to something that makes sense to me and I MIGHT be able to remember.  Wish me luck.

Okay. It worked and I am in.  So do I have to change my user name too to get rid of that ex-member designation?

I am looking at the last two posts and the ex-member notation is gone.  Are there problems with the software?

It's a possability that there is a glitch.  As long as it's gone, good!!! I'm thinking to move your old journal onto your new one.  Makes it easier to look back and reference stuff when you're looking at it.

So this is my third journal.  The journey has been very long and strange, a la Alice, and I haven't even had any good drugs.  Huh

I am feeling much better.  I think the depression was because of exhaustion and too much time out in the cold rain.  I am thinking that I will not work for Pendragon next year.  I miss seeing my friends and just wandering around faire.  I don't think the pass and free parking is worth it.  I worked every weekend from the second weekend of July until 2 weeks ago while teaching all summer and into the start of the fall semester which is really busy.

Not to mention not having time to post here or read your posts.  I have missed you all!

We spent this weekend in Springfield with my mom for her birthday.  We drove down Fri nite, leaving after 8pm and the weather was really strange.  Very low clouds, some rain and it was pitchblack in places.  A couple of times we could see no cars in either direction and it was really weird!!

My hair is behaving well and seems to be thicker.  The top is finally getting long enough to add to the volume.  I have found a new style:  It requires a large scrunchy, one hairstick and one of those little circle of curls on a elastic band that you can get at the drugstore for $5.  Make a ponytail with a big scrunchy, and when you pull the hair thru the scrunchy the last time, don't pull it all the way thru, leaving a loop of hair.  I twist the loop once and bring it around and over the top of the scrunchy, ending with the "eye" of the loop at a 10:00 position.  Insert a hairstick thru the "eye" and under the scrunchy, stopping just as it comes out the opposite side of the pony.  Loop the little curly piece under the hairstick. Slide it down to and over the pony/bun, then insert the hairstick all the way thru the pony and over the elastic of the curly piece, until it is properly positioned.  You end up with a bun surrounded by curls, held in place with the hairstick.  I have fine hair that really packs down when I bun it and doesn't hold hairsticks well. This is really cute, very secure, and makes a small bun look bigger.  I have very dark brown hair and use a black scrunchy, but I guess you could use a color if you wanted more ooomph.

So this is the new software.  Interesting.  Seems slower but that could be because it is pouring rain here and my equipment and software could be slow.

Speaking of rain, I have been running around in it all day.  I am thinking that the Sahara desert sounds very attractive.

Thank you, Michelle and Drear, for the kind words.  Life has been very hectic for the last several months and there have been some devastating events.  I think I will take it slower for a while.  Quite a while.  No more working at the renn faires.  I just want to dress up and party with my friends and see the shows.

Now my husband is sick.  He has a very bad cold with a high fever.  I hope it is not H1N1.  He is sleeping in the guest room.  He didn't go to work Wed or today and probably will not work tomorrow either.  I sincerely hope I do not catch it from him.  I am taking Emergen-C morning and night, washing my hands religiously and trying to refrain from touching my face.  Several of my students have been ill, 8 were missing from one class today. H1N1 is ravaging the dorms.

Washed my hair with Burt's Bees Volumizing with vinegar rinse yesterday and it looked really good.  Today not so good, but it is very humid which makes my hair collapse, so I put it up with a Tony Pony curly ponytail.  Tomorrow I will do my "bun surrounded by curls" style.  I think it is the updo I like the best right now.

We were supposed to go to a costume party Sat. nite, but it looks like I will be going by myself.  I hope it doesn't rain as I am wearing renn garb and hate long skirts in the rain.  We are supposed to have my birthday party a week from Sat, Nov. 7, which is my birthday, but that remains to be seen.  He may not be well enough and I could be sick by then, too.  If he is not well to help prepare for the party, I will cancel it because I will be damned if I am going to do it with no help.  Once is enough for that, especially as he is one who likes to give parties, not me.

Anyway, it's really nice to be back.  I have missed you all.

Sorry your husband is sick!  I had some nasty bug myself and it took me a month to get over it.  Who knows if it was H1N1, but it has been pretty prevalent here in north Texas.  If he has a fever for 3 days, or if it gets up to about 102, take him to the doctor!  Also, it seems like a lot of the H1N1 deaths have been caused by secondary pneumonia, so if he has any trouble breathing he should go right away.  Hope he feels better soon and you don't get it as well!

Thank you, Michelle, you are a sweetie.  He is feeling better today, altho' he did not go to work, which is just as well.  He works in downtown Chicago and has an hour drive (at least) each way.  He said he was still feeling really tired and a little lightheaded.  He had a fever yesterday, but not today, and his appetite is back, so he is on the mend.  He did go on-line to his office computer for a couple of hours.  So far, I seem to have escaped it, but am keeping my fingers crossed.

I have been playing with Renn garb all day.  Went thru all my bodices and weeded out those that didn't fit or I wasn't really pleased with (some were sewing experiments that didn't turn out quite as well as I had hoped).  Will donate them to the theatre department at my college. Have been repairing and altering others--shortening and/or lengthening straps as needed, making new straps and modesty panels, re-binding edges, reboning, etc.  It was fun to try on all the stuff I wasn't able to wear the last 2 yrs because I was working.

Tomorrow is the costume party and I just have to decide what to wear.  I am leaning towards a blue and gold skirt and bodice with a plum underskirt and an embroidered white chemise.  I don't know if my husband will go or not.

Well, I think it is bedtime.  Goodnight, all.

Went to the party by myself.  Hubby didn't feel well enough to go.  It was okay, lots of kids having a great time, but I was kind of bored.  Then a couple arrived about 10pm, and the talk turned to religion, which bores me to screaming, especially since I practice Wicca, and certainly can't say that among a group seriously discussing Christianity.

Finished the new straps and modesty panels for the bodice that goes with blue and gold skirt.  It has guards and borders of a paisley corduroy in shades of blue from navy to blue gray, with plum and gold, and the bodice matches the guards and borders.  Turned out very well.

Would have shampooed today as I normally shampoo every third day, but my hair didn't look bad, so will do it tomorrow.  I think because I have a humidifier in the bedroom, my hair behaves better longer.

My husband says he now feels like he is getting a cold.  I will keep taking Emergen-C morning and nite and hope for the best.  I have added at least one cup of tea with honey to that regimen.  Between that and my usual vitamins and reasonable health precautions, I should be okay.

Sounds like you're prepared if a cold tries to attack you!  Glad you're feeling ok.
The bodice sounds nice!
