In these dark times...
Dec 9th, 2009 at 3:56am

My memory's failing me.  I remember dark mornings in CA but I also had to get up at 5am and be at the park to catch the school bus by 6am because school started at 7:19am.  Yes, exactly at 7:19am. Huh  But I don't remember if the afternoons got dark at this time of the year or not?  What's it like where ever you live?

http://vejret.tv2.dk/ ; There's a little animated sun and it says op:  and ned: and it says by how many hours the day has decreased (in day light).

I don't mind it dark but I'm more sensitive to the long dark hours as I grow older.  I don't know what that's about but I crave daylight and sun which I never cared for before.  Taking D vitamin supplements have helped tremenderously on my mood and overall feeling of well being this year.

Currently, sunrise here is around 6:40 AM and sunset is around 4:45 PM. I reside in Southern California and hate the sun, so I love this time of year. Cheesy

I'm significantly effected by the warm sun, it has a major effect on my mood.

I don't sit in the sun, and I am a night owl so I like to be awake when its dark but get depressed if it isn't sunny during the day.  Temperature is also a major factor for me-the warmer the better!

In Arizona, today sunrise was 7:20am and sunset will be 5:19pm so we're just shy of 10 hours of sunlight.

7:33-4:53 where I live.
Of course, since it's terminally cloudy, you can never tell exactly when it's supposed to be daylight or not. It was night-dark at least 3 or 4 times today.
Of course, I'm a engineering-troglodyte, so it doesn't bother me much.  Smiley

Yup!  Exactly the same here. Grin

I do perk up when it's totally dark and I just have artificial lighting in the house, the worse hours are the ones when the "sun" is setting or rising.  I'm okay early in the morning when it's dark too but it's the amount of hours that are dark that affect me and mainly my skin from lack of UV exposure.  I thought it was the cold but the past few winters haven't been that cold yet my skin's been as bad as ever.  A dermatologist told me that it's quite common for dark skinned people's skin to suffer when they don't get enough UV exposure.

I can't afford the transportation to and from the dermatologist for UV treatment.
