Speaking of the U shaped pins, I had bought some stainless steel hair sticks from Quattro about 5 or 6 years ago.  They are wonderful, but too short for me to use now.  He has lots of updated sticks and U shaped pins made of upgraded materials.  Definately worth looking at! Smiley

Hair: CWC with Suave green apple light conditioner and Pantene Nature Fusions Smooth Vitality S&C. Unfortunately, Pantene really is the only thing that doesn't make my hair feel thin and get hopelessly tangled. Undecided Leave-ins were spray conditioner blend and ELOO, which rendered some pretty greasy results so I'm rocking a very uneven single braid. Whatever...so long as it's out of the way.

Etc.: Last week of summer = last chance for an awesomely bad manicure. Black with blue, yellow & green glitter? Ok!

Hair: CWC with Suave green apple light conditioner & HE Tousle Me Softly S&C. I've decided to alternate between the products looming about in storage to kind of use them all up simultaneously. More economical than just tossing whatever doesn't work well. I probably have enough to last until Christmas. Hopefully there will be more jobs available by then.

Maintaining hair like mine at very long lengths is not a poor person's hobby, and I'm beginning to feel the need for change. To the point where reaching waist length at the end of this year will likely seem a hollow victory. My hair is longer now than it's been in well over a decade, and you know what? I'm kinda over it already. That probably sounds sacrilegious in a forum like this. Embarrassed Perhaps now I'm beginning to understand why my friend Maggie no longer posts here.

Anyway, leave-ins were blended conditioning spray and ELOO. Hair seems satisfied enough to wear a flipped ponytail today.

Etc.: Paying bills and sorting through receipts tends to put me in a pragmatic mood. No reviews of fab new products or nice restaurants today. It's all about trimming the fat...quite literally - what's good for the wallet is also good for the waistline. Wink

I am also a winter tree--big surprise there.   Cool

I think I understand your...ennui regarding your hair, especially with it being thin and fine like mine.  Sounds like its time to reconsider the length, eh?   Huh

Trisha: True enough. Although the plan was to cut to BSL once I'd reached waist length, now I'm beginning to think that that might not be enough. Undecided

Hair: Spent all of yesterday unwashed, tied back with a satin scrunchie. Today I finally got to clarify, but after 2 days of collecting oil, it might not have quite done the job. Undecided
Tried out the Walmart "equivalent" of Pantene's Daily Moisture Renewal conditioner. Blegh! No equivalent about it. It's thin, watery and smells like .... It could be used as a light conditioner, but I'll probably end up just returning it.

No leave-ins today, and the style is a simple bun held up with 3 bobby pins.

Etc.: Why the minimalist approach to haircare? Because I'm currently recovering from a nasty bout of food poisoning. ... Ughhhh...
This morning I weighed 4 lbs. less than the day before. Mommy dearest insisted on cleaning the house today even though I was still wiped out. Angry I'll have to finish the bathroom when intensive labor and standing for long periods of time no longer kill me. Hoping to be fully recovered in time for band practice on Wednesday.

So sorry about the food poisoning!  I've never had it but hubby has and, from his description, I know it ain't pretty.
Sounds like you're maybe considering a shoulder length cut?  Or maybe even shorter?

Sakina & Curlgirl: Thanks, ladies. Smiley

Trisha: Nope, not pretty at all! It quite thoroughly sucks.
And yeah, I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about a chop that short. Embarrassed Still not sure whether I'd ever act on it.

Hair: CWC with the usual stuff today...or at least what has become the usual for now. Suave green apple light conditioner and Pantene Nature Fusion Smooth Vitality S&C.

Leave-ins were blended spray conditioner and ELOO, badly needed after yesterday. The ends were greasy but at least moisturized so the style ended up being another bun.

As for the length, well...I keep going back and forth with it. There are times when I think a Tom Petty-inspired crop, shoulder length or shorter, would be terribly cool...and there are other times where I think, what am I, nuts?! Nothing shorter than BSL will do - long hair & loud music forever! Roll Eyes
So I don't know. It probably shouldn't be waist length though...sadly.

Etc.: This evening I was able to have stacked burrito pie for dinner with my parents (stop gagging, it's actually really good), albeit in a smaller portion. So I'm getting closer to eating like a normal person again. My stomach is quite shrunken after its violent purging on Sunday night.

Aaaaanywho, so the new season of The Biggest Loser premiered tonight and I'm stoked. It makes me want to get out and start power walking again as soon as I have the breath to do so. Speaking of which, I have no idea how I'm going to sing tomorrow night. Huh

Hair: As soon as my mother and sister leave, a relaxing WTC will be my first hair routine of the fall. Smiley Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly shampoo and Aussie 3 Minute Miracle treatment are waiting. I'll probably chase it with light conditioner.

Yesterday I returned 2 conditioners including the dratted Walmart Equate one. Tongue Freed up a tiny bit of cash for an even tinier bit of gas in my car. Such is life.

A few nights ago I was experimenting with snap barrettes and had almost forgotten how well they hold since my hair has been worn up all summer. With the onset of autumn it will be cool to wear my hair down more often. Wink Perhaps that will curb my urge to chop.

Etc.: In case I've not said it already, happy autumn. Wink

Last night's practice was almost unbearable. We sounded even crappier than usual. I couldn't even fake interest. Undecided
There was footage from our last show up on the flat screen in the music room and we all hung out and watched it. Dreadful quality - I probably could have done better with the video camera on my cell phone. And we sounded crap. Worse yet, it reinforced long standing fears that I've had about the band ruining my voice. My involvement therein should be lessened considerably.

Anyroad, the shower's calling so I'm off. Hope the lot of you are having a great day.

Hair: CWC with Suave green apple light conditioner and Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly S&C. Leave-ins were spray conditioner blend & serum. Style is a bun because it's freaking hot today.

Etc.: The scary, black, glittery manicure of the past week is gone already. My nails get a day to breathe and return to their natural color before I shape them up tomorrow and give them new paint. A deep, shimmery plum shade for fall would be perfect, no?

Nothing new in the job market. Better said, nothing at all. Undecided Despite what some suits are paid to tell us, the recession is far from over. *sigh* All one can do is keep going.

For now though, I need to get going. Ciao, dahlings!

Curlgirl: Part of why I love fall is because my two favorite colors are everywhere. Can't go wrong with black and purple. Cool

Hair: Clarified today, actually using a decent conditioner this time: Pantene Nature Fusion Smooth Vitality. The plan is to try and use Nature Fusion all this week if supplies hold up. Then maybe Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly all next week. I'll need another huge bottle of ACV before next Sunday regardless.

Today's only leave-in was blended spray conditioner; style is a bun.

Etc.: It's hotter than Hades today. 95°F right now and it's 6 PM. Apparently it peaked at 106°F...I wasn't crazy enough to venture outdoors. Supposed to be even hotter tomorrow. My little town is neck in neck with parts of AZ. Wonder how Sakina's faring. Undecided
