Venetian glass beads are made in Venice, Italy on the island of Murano. The beads seen today can be traced to the 11th century, when the beadmakers were executed if they attempted to leave the island with their precious beadmaking secrets! The end of each of these hair sticks is adorned with a rare large vintage Venetian art glass bead in a fiery orange with lots of sparkling gold aventurine captured within, nestled into a gold plated filigree bead cap. A vintage West German hyacinth aurora borealis crystal sits below. Gold plated heishi beads complete the hair jewelry design. The hair sticks are dyed black bone, finished with a glittering holographic special effect lacquer. The hair accessories measure 5 3/4" from end to end.
