Scored: Designer Shoes & Boots

beverlyfeldmandaboot Scored: Designer Shoes & Boots Scored: Designer Shoes & Boots

What it is: Da Boot by Beverly Feldman

Designer’s Site: Beverly Feldman

Where I got It: eBay

Retail Price: Don’t recall, but waaaay more than I could afford at the time

What I think: I have three pairs of boots that are tied for my favs of all time, these, my purple leather and silver fox Marc Jacobs ankle boots, and my knee-high lace-up Prada boots.  This pair started my boot addiction (I was pretty much strictly a shoe gurl prior to these) AND my Beverly Feldman addiction… can you blame me?  These are so gorgeous they still make me swoon.  I didn’t know it when I bought ‘em, but apparently these made Oprah’s “The O List” back in 2004 (which is probably around when I bought them).  They only thing I’d dare change in the design is the extreme pointiness of the toe, but it’s not that big a deal once you get used to looking down and seeing elf feet.

I bought them on eBay which is NOT something I recommend you do unless a: you know your designer goodies inside and out, or b: you pay so little you don’t care if it’s a knock-off.  Keep in mind if a seller has 30 Dior handbags he’s selling for $129 each, they are NOT Dior no matter how good they look or how bad you want them to be.  There are a lot of great sites on the web that will teach you the ins and outs of spotting authentic designer stuff, so if you aren’t sure, I strongly suggest you seek help there before dropping any real cash on eBay (don’t ask me, I’m too spread out in my obsessions, ask someone who specializes in the particular designer in which you are interested, they will know all the details about every design down to the minutiae).  I will give you a hint tho: you’re much more likely to get the real thing if you buy something “gently used” from a “normal” person cleaning out their closet (look for original receipts, authenticity cards and original shoe boxes included in the auction) then you will from a mass retailer… especially if that mass retailer happens to be located in China.  And if you do become an “expert,” eBay is a GREAT way to save a ton of cash on designer stuff, my little budding addicts!

Now for the real kicker (see how I punned? ;) — The boot in the photo isn’t actually a real boot, I couldn’t find one.  It’s a photo of a miniature of the original Feldman design made by Just the Right Shoe.  Friggin’ amazing, ain’t it?  It even had me fooled when I first saw it!

Check out all the Beverly Feldman Scored: Designer Shoes & Boots styles currently on Amazon, there are usually several at great prices.

How She Rolls
Susan Maxwell Schmidt is the internationally-collected jewelry artist behind LongLocks HairSticks. Her designs have appeared in Demetrios Bridal's "For the Bride" magazine and "Upscale Magazine." The LongLocks HairSticks Boutique was Lucky Magazine's top pick for Best Hair Web Site in their May 2009 issue.

Though a native New Yorker, Ms. Schmidt currently resides in the fashion non capitol of the world–East Nottingham, PA–where the Amish are the fashion trendsetters and John Deere green appears in the color forecast every season.

Ms. Schmidt enjoys driving fast, annoying her husband, sleeping late and disturbing the neighbors. She also fancies herself a fashionista, though this is likely nothing more than a rather sad delusion on her part. It’s best just to play along.
