Handbags, Valentino and the Most Wonderful Husband in the World

It is a Valentino leather and silk Rosette bag and is available today only at Beyond the Rack for a mere $1360.
*This* is the most wonderful husband in the world. Period.
My Sweetie understands, and even enjoys to some extent, my addiction to designer accessories but generally he is not inclined to encourage it. He never says “buy it.” OK, he rarely says “buy it.” Don’t get me wrong, I do buy them, I’m just saying rarely does he encourage it ;)
Today when we saw this at BTR, he knew by my reaction (something akin to hysterical hyperventilation) that this bag was something I’d number among my most favorite treasures. And then he did it… he actually said, “Buy it.”
As hard as it is to resist, I am not going to because it’s just too much money for a handbag I would be more inclined to keep in a glass display case than use. Regardless, he said it and he meant it, and ya gotta admit that’s pretty damn wunnerful.

The Latest Fashion Trend: Sequins! And They’re Not Just for Holidays!
Since my absolute favorite color is sparkle, I LOVE the fact that sequins are trending as the hottest fashion must have. One cannot own too many sparkly things, it is simply impossible (as I am attempting to prove scientifically through in-depth and thorough research). However, that’s not to say that one cannot adorn themselves with too many sparkly things (with the exception of diamonds, of course). You have to be careful when donning sequins, lest you end up looking like a call girl rather than an It Girl.
The easiest way to achieve a fashionable look with sequins is to stick with subdued colors: black, white, metallics (bronze, pewter, gold, silver) and pastels. Wear chartreuse sequins and you’ve crossed the “Worst Dressed” line. Sequin saturation points are important as well, in most situations. Think jeans with a spangled hem rather than leggings completely covered with sequins from waist to ankle. If at this point you are even considering chartreuse sequin leggings then I’m afraid you’ve gone too far to the dark side for me to help you, Kermie. As with everything in fashion, less is more.
Below are some great looks you can use to fashionably sparkle up your look, and they’re not just for the holidays! There’s also not a chartreuse sequin in the bunch. Even better, all these fabulous finds are currently available at… (wait for it) …Amazon! Did you even know that you can find all kinds of fabulous designer fashions at Amazon for great prices, often offered by the design houses themselves? I did. My VISA card knows too. So does my husband, but we needn’t go there. Let’s try to keep the fun alive.

Oodles & Oddles of Early Black Friday Deals! Oodles I Tells Ya!
Boy is this gonna be a great shopping season judging by the loads of great holiday deals that are coming my way! I predict the economy is about to make a major comeback, and being the good citizen that I am I fully intend to bite the bullet, dust off the plastic and do my part. All for the cause, of course. Duh.

Private Sale Designer Boutique Invitations & Reviews Updated
Since my schedule doesn’t allow me to keep up with the private sale designer boutique schedules, I have changed that page to Private Sale Designer Boutique Invitation Codes, so now it only provides a list of boutiques and their access codes/invitation links. I have also added a couple new boutiques to the list.
In addition, I have changed the name of the “You are Cordially Invited…” page to Private Sale Designer Boutique Reviews. If you had either of these pages linked, you’ll have to save them again, as the URLs have changed.

New ‘Designer Stuff I Scored’ Cover Stories
I have finally decided on a format for my “Stuff I Scored” Cover Stories and am going to start adding new reviews on a regular basis. I have broken the Cover Stories up into separate categories, which currently include Cosmetics, Hair and Beauty, Designer Handbags, Designer Shoes and Boots, and Designer Sunglasses and Accessories. Watch for “Designer Jewelry and Watches” and “Designer Housewares and Home Fashions” to be added in the next few days. I have many, many, MANY reviews of fabulous items to add to these Cover Stories, so keep your eyes open for the latest and greatest!
Please note that I make it a point to write thorough, accurate and most importantly, honest reviews and will continue to do so (no matter what the source of the item I am reviewing), even when it pains me to give a bad critique. I’m such an addict of designer goodies that I actually buy the majority of what I review myself, thus I have little occasion to even be exposed to outside influences; however, I feel very strongly that if you can’t be trusted to give an honest review no matter what the source of the item you are reviewing , then you don’t possess the level of integrity required to do the job at all. I find, to a great level of personal angst, a general lack of integrity runs rampant on the internet and it’s important to me that my readers know I can be trusted under any circumstances. This recently became even more apparent to me when I was perusing a couple freelance writers’ sites. I was both shocked and disgusted by just how many thousands of companies actually hire people to write positive reviews for items the potential reviewers know absolutely nothing about! I found this discovery to be both rather sad and extremely disturbing. I hardly think of myself as being naive but apparently I am… it never even occurred to me that anyone would do this, either as a company or a writer. I use reviews a lot when making major purchases but now I don’t think I’ll ever trust a public review again, or at least not without a huge grain of salt. That is not how I want Style & Angst to be perceived. Ever.
Anyway, I’m going to get started on this big job I have ahead of me, and am off to review a pair of Rock & Republic shades. Be sure to check out the Cover Story Stuff I Scored: Designer Sunglasses and Accessories in a little while to see what I really think of them!
