Major Changes to the LongLocks Hair Jewelry Catalog

The LongLocks catalog and site menu (not to mention my studio) are getting way out of hand and there are just too many choices out there, so I’ve decided it’s time to bite the bullet and let several styles of LongLocks hair jewelry go… and some of ‘em are real old-timers, too.

I am not going to remove anything from the catalog just yet, I am just dividing what’s available into two categories: “Current Hair Sticks Styles” and “Retiring Hair Stick Styles.”  This is how the styles will appear in the new menu as it propagates across the site.  Any style in the “Retiring Hair Stick Styles” section will no longer have new designs posted and once what’s available now sells (or sooner if I get impatient in my quest for a more zen-like existence), the style will go away too (check the details below).

Retiring Styles:

DuetStix These aren’t *entirely* going away, these type of designs will probably still show up occasionally in other styles but there will be no new designs actually called “DuetStix.”

IllusioniStix

GlitterStix

MarbeliStix

IndividualiStix Also will be incorporated into other styles but likely will ONLY be available via special order.

MonetStix

MystStix

RomanzaStix

SterlingStix

DecoStix

So, if you want or need any of these styles to complete your collection, you might wanna start thinking about grabbing what’s available (or asking me about other designs in these styles of which I can create your own version via special order, just tell me your color[s] and I’ll send you several images of what I have in the archive).

I feel more organized and streamlined already! :)

As always, thank you for your interest in (the remaining) LongLocks HairSticks!

New MonetStix Hair Jewelry Designs Posted at LongLocks!

LongLocks MonetStix Hair Jewelry

Four new first edition LongLocks MonetStix hair jewelry designs have been posted, the Special Edition Designs page has been updated, and one “Last Chance” special order design has been posted in Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow.

Have you seen everything the LongLocks HairSticks Boutique has to offer?  I bet not!  Check out the new redesign of our Site Map and explore everything you’ve missed. It’s so much prettier than the original site map, let us  know what you think!

Today’s Tip: Did you know that if you find your scalp flaking and itching that it may NOT be dandruff?  It could be nothing more than silicone buildup. Because almost all hair care products these days contain silicone and the stuff is almost impossible to wash out of your hair, it’s also impossible to avoid buildup. Try clarifying your hair and then refraining from using silicone-containing products for a few weeks. Once you resume, remember to clarify regularly! You’ll find a good recipe for a cider vinegar clarifying rinse in our Hair Care Recipes Cookbook.

How She Rolls
Susan Maxwell Schmidt is the internationally-collected jewelry artist behind LongLocks HairSticks. Her designs have appeared in Demetrios Bridal's "For the Bride" magazine and "Upscale Magazine." The LongLocks HairSticks Boutique was Lucky Magazine's top pick for Best Hair Web Site in their May 2009 issue.

Though a native New Yorker, Ms. Schmidt currently resides in the fashion non capitol of the world–East Nottingham, PA–where the Amish are the fashion trendsetters and John Deere green appears in the color forecast every season.

Ms. Schmidt enjoys driving fast, annoying her husband, sleeping late and disturbing the neighbors. She also fancies herself a fashionista, though this is likely nothing more than a rather sad delusion on her part. It’s best just to play along.
