Venetian art glass beads are made in Venice, Italy on the island of Murano. The beads seen today can be traced to the 11th century, when the beadmakers were executed if they attempted to leave the island with their precious beadmaking secrets! The end of each of these hair accessories is adorned with a breathtaking royal blue vintage Venetian glass bead, with lots of sparkling gold aventurine captured within, nestled into an ornate gold plated bead cap. Another royal blue and gold vintage Venetian glass bead sits below. Gold plated heishi beads complete the design. The hair sticks are elegantly hand carved bone, dyed black and finished in flashes of royal blue and gold special effect metallic pigment under layers of protective clear enamel. The hair accessories measure 5 5/8" from end to end.
