Venetian art glass beads are made in Venice, Italy on the island of Murano. The beads seen today can be traced to the 11th century, when the beadmakers were executed if they attempted to leave the island with their precious beadmaking secrets! The end of each of these hair accessories is adorned with a breathtaking amethyst purple vintage Venetian glass disk bead, with lots of sparkling gold aventurine, nestled into a gold plated filigree bead cap. A very rare vintage Swarovski Amethyst Aurora Borealis bicone crystal sits below. Gold plated heishi beads complete the design. The hair sticks are intricately hand carved bone finished in satiny amethyst purple with shimmering gold detailing under layers of protective clear enamel. The hair accessories measure 6" from end to end.
