Venetian art glass beads are hand made by the master glassblowers in Venice, Italy on the Island of Murano. The beads seen today can be traced to the 11th century, when the beadmakers were executed if they attempted to leave the island with their precious beadmaking secrets!
The end of each of these hair accessories is adorned with a magnificent vintage aqual blue Venetian art glass wedding cake bead, with applied glass roses, blue flowers and tons of sparkling gold aventurine, nestled between two antique gold plated bead caps. A vintage aqua blue and gold speckled pinched bicone bead sits below. Gold plated heishi beads complete the design. The hair sticks are elegantly hand carved bone, finished in sparkling gold over satiny light aqua blue, under layers of protective clear enamel. These one-of-a-kind hair accessories measure 5 5/8" from end to end.
