Hand crafted lampwork beads are painstakingly created one at a time by bead artists using specialized glass and a high temperature propane torch. Each bead has its own character and is in itself a work of art. A true bead artist brings incredible depth to each bead, and each artist has their own signature style. Indeed the designs, and even the beads themselves, are as individual and as varied as the artists who create them.
The end of each of these hair accessories is adorned with a gorgeous jonquil yellow, lilac purple, and olivine green lampwork lentil bead, hand crafted by glass artist Margaret Wells, nestled into a gold plated filigree bead cap and a Turkish vermeil (genuine 22kt. gold over sterling silver) filigree bead cap. A gold plated sky blue rhinestone rondelle occupies the center position. A Swarovski Lilac crystal, topped with an ornate Turkish vermeil filigree bead cap, sits below. Gold plated heishi beads complete the design. The hair sticks are carved bone, hand finished in an abstract multicolor decoupage of jonquil yellow, lilac purple, olivine green, sky blue and rose pink, under layers of protective clear enamel. These one-of-a-kind special edition LongLocks hair accessories measure 6" from end to end.
