Venetian art glass beads are made in Venice, Italy on the island of Murano. The beads seen today can be traced to the 11th century, when the beadmakers were executed if they attempted to leave the island with their precious beadmaking secrets! The end of each of these hair accessories is adorned with a large twisted vintage Venetian art glass bead, with bands of amethyst purple and sparkling gold aventurine. Pictures do not do these breathtaking beads justice! A vintage Swarovski Jet Margarita (flower shaped) crystal occupies the center position. A hand cut amethyst purple cone crystal sits below. Gold plated heishi beads complete the design. The hairsticks are hand carved bone dyed elegant black. The hair accessories measure 5 7/8" from end to end.
