I've never been particularly fond of tipping.  It usually looks like a bad dye job.  Maybe I've just never seen anyone with their hair styled in a way to make it look good.

  I have naturally brunette hair with reddish highlights and am also of a very pale olive complexion.  I used to color my hair years ago, anywhere from strawberry to penny red, and all shades in between, it was fun, but very damaging to my hair.  This is the first time in a long time that my hair is completely natural, and I am very happy with it.  In the summer, the sun gives me some very blonde streaks that vary from almost a bleached blonde to a mustard yellow color, it's really neat!  I am not a sun goddess in any way, shape or form, In fact the only time I am in the sun is if I am doing outside work around the house, but that is enough I guess.  One year I used a lemon-based gel in my hair while I was outside to highlight around my face, and that worked really well without drying my hair out badly.  Because of my complexion, I usually stick to earth tones and olive greens for my clothing, I cannot get away with pastels or bright colors, it just does not look right with my skin tone.  But that's ok, cuz I'm an earthy kind of gal, so I don't mind a bit!  Even my make-up stays within the earthy shades, usually a brown or olive shimmer for the eyeshadow, a brown eyeliner, black mascara, brownish-peach for the cheeks, and varying shades of brown for my lipgloss and lipstick.  I'm kind of like a walking pile of moss and bark...ha ha!

I think it suits many NE Asians too because they're so fair skinned.  In some historical time they may have had outdoor jobs that tanned their skin but now that many work indoors and can use sun protection, if they feel the contrast is too harsh (I love dramatic contrasts though) then I see no reason why they can't go blonde, natural shades of red, lighter brown as long as the results look "natural".  By natural I mean the hair color and not necessarily that you believe the girl was born with that color hair.

I just wish that 1) I suited natural tones of red.  2) failing that, I wish I had fairer skin for a more dramatic contrast to my black hair.

Actually, some people with deep olive complexions suit that very deep "coke" shade that's a berry red/dark brown shade.  I only suit unnatural berry and wine shades which is fine when I feel for that sort of drama.
