I have  a really high forehead, with a deep widow's peak. A lot of women would cut bangs, but I've been that route, and although I look good in bangs, you have to trim them regularly, etc, and I figured it was easier not to have them. So I don't.

But I've been wanting that option.

No, I'm not tempted to cut my own bangs, but I've been spending way too much time at the computer, and have been meaning to do something with some synthetic hair I bought at a bargain price.

I cut some pieces of extension weft, (light and dark auburn) sewed them on backing, and glued the whole thing to a scunci comfort plastic headband. I think it looks pretty good for a first project, especially considering I was just winging it. Those streaks you see are really there, not shadows.



But here's the problem: now I need to style the piece, and I have no experience cutting bangs. I'd like something almost stylish, as this looks highlighted. I've definitely got enough length to work with. But I don't want to mess it up. And I don't want to pay somebody $$ to do it for me. Anybody have any suggestions?

What a good idea! Since the age of 13, I have never, ever let anyone cut my hair into bangs - I hate them with a passion! But the look is quite nice as a change sometimes, I never would have thought of using extensions in the front.

I don't dare give you advice about cutting them though, good luck!

So, how did you ever make out with these bangs??  Were you successful in cutting them, do you wear them?  You sound extremely crafty to be able to cut and sew as you do, and sounds like you have quite a bit of computer knowlege too!  Update, update!
