It had to happen...
Aug 26th, 2007 at 10:48pm

So there I was on a typical Friday afternoon, performing a quick S&D in the ladies' room at work, during my break. Holding the scissors with my right hand, I carefully isolated individual damaged ends that were sticking out. I was isolating strands with both hands, that is...including the one with the scissors in it. And then, all of a sudden...snip!
I looked down quickly to see a small section of my hair, in the front, accidentally snipped off about 2" from the bottom! I brushed away the detached section, which was hanging at an angle from where it had been severed, and combed through my hair to see if the shorter ends were obvious. Unfortunately, they are. The bottom part of my hair in that little area is much thinner than on the other side. I don't know whether my next trim will fix that or not.  Sad
In any case, I've learned the hard way to put the scissors down when isolating strands, and pick them up again only when I've found the hair that needs to be snipped. Tedious as it may be, constantly putting the scissors down and picking them up again, it beats unintentionally snipping off sections of hair at a time!  Shocked

I have done that before too, except I've been lucky so far and it was only a couple of strands at a time. But I'm sure that shorter section is not noticeable to others. You have my sympathies, though, Angel Spun.

I've never accidently snipped a section, but I can see how easy it would be to do it.  Good idea to remember to put the scissors down to prevent accidental shearings.

I'm sure the section is not noticible to most.  You can hide it by combing/brushing that section in with other hair.

hehe Thanx for the sympathy, juri.

Usually, I wear my hair in a single braid, so the shorter ends shouldn't be obvious. It's just my luck, you know?  Tongue

Oh yeah, I've done that... you're lucky, it was only 2"... I've got a small lock of hair that's snipped off about 6" from where it should end. Which is where I learned another lesson on S&D.. do not do it while half asleep.
