Title: ~*Flaming Bunny's Hair Tales*~
Post by flaming_bunny on Jun 24th, 2004 at 11:44am
ooooh im first!  :)  hmmmmmmm...lets see...where to begin!!!???
well, my normal routine (ever since finding these boards) has been to s/c every 3 days (down from every other day before longlocks) but i washed a day early on tuesday because last night was the private showing of the exhibition for art college in which i diplayed my final project which ill be marked on. i wanted to look my spiffy best so obviously the hair was down. i clarifyed with Pantene's clarifying shampoo and then used Pantene's winter repair deep conditioner (i kept it in for aaaages under my *lovely* shower cap). i oiled when wet and was AMAZED when my hair dried....it was sooooooooooooo soft and shiny! my hair LOVES pantene (weird as so many hate the stuff) and im thinking of going back to it as soon as i finish the fructus long and strong im currently using (its good but my hair is never as soft as with pantene...still deciding though).
ive been measuring my hair a lot this month....a week or so a go it had grown about 1/2inch in 2weeks! but i decided to trim a little as the ends were a bit rough. im not going to measure again til the start of july....hope i didnt take too much off! i want classic length hair! *randomness*
today i took the boyfriend to the public viewing of the exhibition...he seemed really impressed...although he does like to tease me about being an art/design student as he's a chemistry student. we've been together loooong enough for me to know he doesnt mean it  :) men, eh?! hehe

*wow this is a long post!*
im off to wash my hair a day early again cos tomorrows my last day at college and i want to look good for the photo taking that will take place! ill get my result too!!!! *fingers crossed*

yesterday was the last day of my 1year foundation course...it was really sad saying goodbye to my tutor---even if he is a moany git  ;D ----and even sadder saying goodbye to my group.....we were all so close but everyones going away to uni so i wont see them again probably (all my close friends will be living at home so im relieved!) i got my result....i wasnt too happy. a PASS (the grading is FAIL, PASS, MERIT, DISTINCTION) i almost got a merit GRRRRRR!!!! i was so upset i cried when i got home and told my mum...i never cry in front of mum so it was odd.
in the evening i went out with my friends and got a tad drunk (wine goes straight to my head) so all my woes were forgotten!
since my hairs got softer and slippery-er, its more difficult to keep hairstick up dos in all day...madness! so i was constantly redoing it last night.
today i went into town to hand in my CV for a sunday job in a department store I NEED A JOB!!!! i wore my hair in a figure 8 bun with 2 hairsticks so i looked all spiffy and smart  :)
i went to Claires Accessories and bought my first ficcare!! its black with a square black cross with little black stones on it...so pretty and smooth too! it said it was £3-50 but when i got to the till it was £1!!! woot!
i saw soooooooooooo much long hair in town! everywhere! oo ooo there was an indian lady with hair that was mid-thigh! beautiful  :o  :) i want hair that long!
im going to try a CO tomorrow....im a greasy sister so i have my doubts but we'll see!!!
until next time folks....!  ;D

well this afternoon i CO'd instead of the usual shampoo then tonnes of conditioner  :)  ::)

i found a discarded bottle of Sunsilk daily repair conditioner in the shower rack so i decided to use that rather than use loads of my fructus long and strong. it was kinda weird putting conditioner on the top of my head and rubbing all through! i put on my rather fetching shower cap and went about my showering business. when i rinsed (which was for about 5minutes in warm then cool water) my hair was soooooooo silky..though not as silky as when i use deep conditioners...but still..wowie!

when i combed out my hair and oiled (when wet) my hair felt thicker some how...but i dismissed it.
now its dry, my ends feels great and im all soft and shiny....but my roots feel coated and my scalp is itchy  :( me no likey..i dont feel as clean as normal  :'( i want to wash my hair again.....but ill leave it until at least tomorrow. my hair better be non-greasy tomorrow cos the boyfriend is coming over for the whole day and i want to look nice. its been ages since we've had a whole day together (he's been living at college in london....once a week visits are NOT good  :'(
:'(  :'( ) now he's back but i dont want to be greasy!!!! why does my hair have to be difficult??!! grr.

back to shampoo and conditioner a la Fructus long and strong i go.... :)

when i woke up this moring my hair was sooooo greasy *bleurgh* so after i went food shopping (parents are on holiday....i have to fend for myself  :) ) i jumped in the shower, clarifyed with pantenes clarifying shampoo and then used pantenes winter repair and protect deep conditioner....my hair feels and looks so YUMMY!! i ***love*** that deep conditioner!  :-*  :-*  :-*

to the hide my greasy doo this morning i decided to do a plain bun but it didnt work so well today so i did the '2 parter' bun (where you make a bun with the top layer of hair..stick it... then wrap the lower layer around that and stick it) worked wonderfully! lovin' that style  :)

went for an evening walk with the boyfriend, my hair looked so nice i decided to let it free...the gentle breeze felt fabulous in my hair...and he likes my hair to be down  ::)  ;D we took some sunset photos but it was over cast so the sunset wasnt very easy to see  :-X hmpf! ohwell.....
my best friend is coming over tomorrow...we're going to relive our childhoods and watch lots of disney videos!!!! little mermaid....beauty and the beast......*sigh* memories! hehe...two 19 year olds watching disney haha!!

ahwell....its 11pm so i think i'll go to bed....im a sleepy (flaming) bunny. tata.

hehe its the start of the month and i measured in at 37" WOOOOO!  ;D ;D ;D *super happy dance* hehe
since i got my lurvely ficcare ive been wearing my hair like this....gather into a pony tail....twist it like your gonna make a bun but fold it in 2 and clip the ends to the back of your head. its tres groovy cos the hair thats hanging down goes all twisty  :) boyfriend liked it....he said my hair was beautiful today  ;D he likes my long hair *encore of super happy dance* that bodes well for when he has to brush and braid it for me when it gets too long.
he came over today, we watched Family Guy...love that show :) he gave me a present from his trip to New York a couple of months back (he kept forgetting it...silly).....it was a reeeeeeeally soft white bunny with chocolates!! hehe its dressed in dungarees and has a watering can with Godiva on it...i know thats the chocolate name but i love it cos its hair related!! its soooo cute  :-* and its from Macy's!! not a big deal for american peeps but im from the uk and reeeeeally want to go to america...especially New York! woot!

my parents came back from their holiday today...they bought me this really cool chinese money toad....its a statue of a toad with a slightly open mouth. you put the chinese coin in its mouth and point it towards your door to bring you money luck. its so mystical and cool!

i washed my hair yesterday. im really noticing positive effects from the Fructus long and strong. my hair is definately smoother, softer , there seem to be less split ends (thank the lord) and there have been less hairs in my comb!!! wooooooooooooooooooo!  :-*
my hair was [glb]really[/glb] greasy yesterday before i washed it....MONTHS after switching to washing every 3 days and still my hair hasnt adapted. maybe it wont...im just greasy!  :P i used i little bit more shampoo to see if that helps the problem. my routine consists of two shampoos....a little bit for the front of my scalp and a little for the back. this way the shampoo doesnt have to sit on a part of my scalp whilst i rub another part  :) one thing i love about the fructus is that it doesnt completely strip my hair.....its feels soft! thats shampoo! madness!  ::)  :o hehe

ive noticed that my hair has more volume (its fine, medium thickness) if ive had it in up dos eg bun, braid. i wouldve thought that this would flatten it but no! woohoo! i like the fuller, slightly wispy look of my hair after ive let a bun down. but more i love the softness of my hair in general!!!! before i found longlocks i thought my hair just couldnt be soft. thn i found out that i was treating it like crap....but now its wonderful *sighs dreamily* aaaaaaaaaaah hair....[glb]i love you[/glb]:-*

ok...now i rambling! ^_^

*various grumbling noises* double vodka drinks.....no no no no [glb]NO[/glb]!!! ow my head. i went out with my ladies last night and made the mistake of having double drinks instead of singles. i was up basically all night feeling bleurgh but managed not to be sick and fall asleep at 6am. im a moron  :) feeling slightly better now but still have that feeling of grossness. anyhoooooo....
i was annoyed this morning cos i didnt detangle my hair last night and i wore it down whilst out so it was tangle city!
i washed yesterday morning and it looked fabulous when dry....then i went for a walk with the boyfriend and it fully dried in the breeze! yum! now my hairs in a figure 8 bun (a rather gorgeous one actually!) so my hair will have more volume when i let it down this evening to go and see boyf....and itll have nice waves too.
its not been very sunny recently so my hair wont be growing like a crazy thing (it seems to really grow in the sun  :o ) im not measuring at all this month so my growth will be a complete surprise at the start of august.
ow.....my head...... :-X

i clarifyed and deep conditioned this morning...my hair is so soft and smooth  :) i LOVE my hair at the moment..it always feels so nice..yay me.
im finally getting good at french braiding so last niht i dampened my hair and put one in to sleep on. when i undid it this morning....WOWIE! my hair was almost curly! i looked soooooo good! i wouldnt have washed it but my roots were so greasy and i want nice clean hair for when i go out for dinner with the boyfriend tomorrow  :) and i needed to clarify that build up! i like to get it before my hair starts behaving strangely.
i got my application form from the library yesterday..im still job searching..it takes ages!! i;ll be sending that off tomorrow. its cool cos my best friend works at a library so i know what to expect...though we wont be working at the same one cos we live near different branches ***fingers crossed*** man i want a job!
im feeling all fuzzy and joyous at the mo cos everyone was so nice about my picture in the "show us your locks" section....yay...everyone is so nice here. i feel so free and like everyone is a friend  ;D  :-*

well....off to eat dinner...mmm...chicken!

for the second time in a row i let my hair go 4 days without a wash (out of sheer laziness...not experiment  ;) ) so this morning when i woke up my hair was *whoa* greasy.....think plastered to your head! ew. but ive just washed so im feeling all fresh again  :)
for the past few nights ive slept in a french braid (im getting good at them-squee!) so my hair had mucho volume...it was so lovely and thick!! but this morning it looked frizzy...although it wasnt cos when you felt it it was so soft and smooth. im back to straight and 'sleek'  :)
yesterday i was wearing the top i used to wear to get my hair trimmed (i would get my dad to trim it in line with the bottom of the top) i looked at the back of my hair in the mirror and noticed that its at LEAST 2 1/2inches longer!!!!! woooohooooo!!! i always got it trimmed back to about hip length before long locks...that wouldve been ALL my growth over the months between my trims! grrr! owell...im growing now! yayness!
i decided that, although im gonna trim every now and then to tidy up.....im going to embrace my uneven ends....to hell with a thick, blunt cut. i can do that when my hairs long enough to sacrifice the thinner last few inches of hair....thats when im a bit longer than classic. then ill cut the last few inches off to get rid of the damage i did to my hair before longlocks. i hope i keep to that!

hmmmm....now my hairs dry it doesnt seem as soft as usual. maybe i didnt use as much conditioner...maybe i didnt rinse enough...or maybe its because i applied the jojoba oil when my hair was a little dryer than normal.

ew...i just found i some scabbyness on my scalp. ew!

its official...my hair type is 1b/F-N/ii woo!

my hair is getting pointy at the ends....must be strong....will not trim as ends look okay......will wait til hair is reeeeeally long to cut off thin ends...... :P

ok i caved....today i did a mini-micro-teeny-weeny trim cos a few hairs were growing longer than the rest and making my ends pointy....now is okay and the ends feel better and look better. but now ive probably gotten rid of my growth for July....ohwell.........

i told the boyfriend of my plans to grow my hair to about mid thigh in the long run.......he was pleased but expressed concern about being accidentally strangled at night hahaha!

ETA: wowie...i just realised i reached emerald status. woohoo!

Ok, I know this sounds strange but I practically idolize flaming_bunny for her stunning, shiny, hip-length hair.  Every time I see her picture I ask myself why can't I look like that? :   So I was wondering how long it took you to grow your hair. How long was it when you decided to grow it, how old were you?  Thank you,
            Dayne-Brenna

Drummergirl08, if youre reading this, you are such a sweetheart! youre hair is going to be uber long and gorgeous with all the advice here  :) ive been feeling all warm and fuzzy all day  ;D

last night i had a go at rag curls. it went ok, but the rags i used were too short and flimsy  :( my hair was coming out a bit this morning where i slept on it so the curls were less curly on one side of my head. the results still were pretty though  :) once i get some longer, sturdier rags i'll try again.
today was wash day, so i did. however the washing machine was on at the same time as my shower so i had NO hot water...it was freezing!!!! so my conditioner didnt stay on for as long, but i think i rinsed well enough. even with jojoba oil, my hair isnt as soft as normal. but ive noticed that my hair is always softer on the day AFTER washing....especially if ive had it up. madness!
my hair is finally getting thicker....or feeling that way anyhow  ;D yayness! ends are still thin but are looking better cos i trimmed yesterday or whenever it was *bad memory..like a fish*

:( :'( :( :'( :( :'( :( :'(

i had such a crappy day today  :'( past problems are coming back to haunt me when i thought they had all gone away. its not enough to send me into the depression i managed to shake off but i fear EVERYTHING coming back. i wish i could explain it to all my long haired friends here but...
a)it would take way, WAY too long cos it spans about 2yrs of my past
b) the internet is far too public for such personal problems...even if i do trust the main people who would be reading it.

one thing that did cheer me up was the fact that when i took my hair down from a figure 8 today...it was soooooo soft...yayness! i love deep conditioners  :) that and all the lovely comments about my picture in the "show off your locks" thread.....everyone here is so sweet...i love you all  :)

:-* for Bikerbraid....youre so sweet  :)

i'm feeling much better today, last night the boyfriend took me to a rather spiffy Indian restaurant and paid for it all *he's so dreamy..lol* all to cheer me up...and it worked so yay  ;D

i washed my hair a day early yesterday so it would look nice for the restaurant. i skipped the jojoba oil cos i planned to dry my hair in the glorious sunshine that has blessed rainy little england this past few days, and i didnt want it to cook with the oil. my hair is still soft...but not as much as usual and it feels like something's missing...hmmm.....not missing oil again.

today i did a braided version of leia's swirly bun...it worked really well.....looks quite nifty!
it didnt hold with the one hairstick though....my hair is a bit slippy...so i had to exchange the slightly fancy stick for my 2 sturdy plain ones when i went out. (i had a picture posted but it didnt show up grr)

*i should be hearing from the library soon...i hope they give me an interview....fingers crossed*

its too hot!!!!!!! 30 degrees and england shouldnt happen!! im one of those people that is extremly uncomfortable over 25 degrees...so 30 takes the biscuit  :o

anyhoo...on to hairy matters!
i dusted my hair the other day using that twisty method....it works best for me cos its quite quick...i get bored if i just have to forage through my hair  :) its feeling good and split free (well...almost split free!)

im going to wash a day early again tomorrow....i know i said i wouldnt but saturday is my aunts 50th birthday dinner so i want to look spiffy rather than greasy heh.

went shopping with my best friendy-wendy today, and wore my hair down even though its hot! im a sucker for punishment, but it wasnt too bad. we're so psychic its scary......we turned up wearing EXACTLY the same thing....we're so creepy and cool  ;D yay us. people even mistake us for twins...mental!

i noticed a really weird thing the other day. i was brushing my hair by the mirrors in a public loo and this woman behind me (i could see her in the mirror) watched me brush. then when i was finished she proceeded to brush her own, shoulder length, hair in exactly the same manner (splitting it down the middle and having each half of hair over a shoulder) it was so weird. but cool if she was jealous of little ol' me. god im vain! lol  ::)

Title: i frazzled my hair!!!
Post by flaming_bunny on Aug 1st, 2004 at 1:23pm
at my aunts party yesterday i had to use my hair to protect my shoulders/arms from the hot sunshine (i forgot to put sun cream on in the mad rush that was my morning). now my hair looks a tad frazzled...though it feels ok. but my arms arent sunburnt! hazzar!  :P my poor, poor hair...*talks to hair for a moment: dont worry baby, i have some deep conditioner for you* i hope that will sort it out  ???  :(  :'( *fingers crossed*

its weird..its like my hair is a living creature and feel guilty for being cruel! madness!!  :o

in other news....i wore my hair in a braided bun on top of my head to bed last night...i looked like a demented pineapple but it stayed pretty much perfect! however when i took it down this morning my roots hurt a bit and my hair was HUGE! hehe. its all gravy though.

im off to wash a day early (again..i know, i know) so i can slather my poor hair with deeeeeep conditioner and keep it on for aaaaages. poor thing is thirsty!  :)

Title: damp infinity
Post by flaming_bunny on Aug 18th, 2004 at 10:47am
the day before yesterday (after i clarified and deep conditioned) i decided to get all my wet hair out of my face by doing an infinity bun held with a single hairstick. after each hour of it being held up i let it down for a bit and shook my hair so it would actually dry  ;)

when it was eventually dry (about 8 hrs!) it had lots of waves..although these were mostly combed out...but my hair was so soft and thick and had such lovely movement!!!

so from now on....if i wash my hair on a spare day where im doing absolutely nothing...i will damp bun! yay!!!

Very gorgeous, Flaming Bunny... I damp bun all the time too. Isn't it great? I feel sorry for all the shorthairs (or longhairs, God forbid) who "have to" blow dry. ::)

p.s. Your ends look great! Did you have to let it grow naturally like that, or can you get away with a cut method that gets you tapered-looking ends? Mine is half u-shaped, half blunt and I'd loooove the natural look someday.

thankyou!!! ive always been a bit worried about my thinner, pointy ends but youve made my day!

my hair is very strange. the back part grows quicker than the rest of my hair. i trim this blunt but a) it sort of twists to the side, and b) my hair grows back pointy. im not trimming for a good long while since my hair is growing slowly at the mo so im dealing with the pointyness!  :) cos the front parts of my hair are naturally shorter ( ???) i get this really deep V shape, which im learning  to love.

to achieve this the 'natural' way, i suppose you'd have to go without trimming for a long while. or cut the V into your hair----though to cut a lot of would be heart-breaking so i wouldnt suggest it   :-X
id love to have blunter ends so enjoy your hair!  ;D

im SURE my hair looks longer but when i measured its still at 37"...well a few hairs are a bit over but generally my hair is the same length as at the start of the month. hmmm....i may start taking a multi vitamin to help my hair, and me in general (over the summer i have been eating a lot of crap....relaxation and all that  ::) ).

today i decided to make some hairsticks to tide me over until i can afford some of Rapunzels. they turned out really well!!! i made them from dowel, wire and beads. ill post a pic when theyre dry. im sp pleased with them...though i dont know how Rapunzel does it every day....and to a higher standard of craft and detail! they were fun to make but fiddly as hell!!!!! small delicate stuff makes me want to move about  :o

Hi Flaming Bunny

Those are some pretty cool hairsticks.. what did you make the stick part out of? (I tried knitting needles once but they just looked weird)... and does the fancy bun have a name? It's so gorgeous!

Hope your eyelid feels better soon! :-*

aww thanks guys!  :-*  ;D the eyelid is feeling better, though i have a weird long scabby thing!

Anais,
the bun is actually a crappy figure 8  ;D it went a bit strange at the bottom!!  ::)

the stick part of the hairsticks is made from a piece of dowel....you can get packs of it from craft stores as theyre used in model making a lot. hope that helps!

I buy packages of plain Chinese bamboo chopsticks. You can cut them off the length you need. Then, sand them smooth, both ends and the length, and spray them with auto spray paint. I'm thinking of wood stain and polyurethane, but I haven't done it yet.

Title: damn hair
Post by flaming_bunny on Sep 16th, 2004 at 10:39am
my hairs so weird at the moment. im shedding like a crazy thing, its not growing much and ive got weird dandruff-esque crap on my scalp! i think its from where i deep condition. after clarifying i always deep condition ALL of my hair, but it seems to be causing weird stuff that (excuse the grossness) you can scrape off with a finger nail (i think it should be dandruff). this could also be why my growth has slowed....i read somewhere on the boards that too much conditioner on the scalp could block the thingys that your hair grows from. so no more conditioner on my scalp!!!
i thoroughly washed my hair with head and shoulders this morning...i really worked it into my scalp, then conditioned the length like normal. my hairs still damp but my scalp feels better (the weird crap was making it itchy) i'll do a few more washes with either head and shoulders or Tgel then resume my normal routine (minus deep conditioner on my scalp) in a week or so. that should get rid of the dandruff...its not a major problem...you cant see it at all.....but i feel it!  :-/

37.5"

.25" growth.....woot(!) its feels like so much more! my hair feels and looks, IMO, longer! LONGER I TELLS YA!!!

ohwell.......next month i should be at 38"...away from that awful 37 number that has plagued me for about 4 months+  ;D im a drama queen by the way  ;)

on monday i start my degree...which got me thinking....when i graduate in 3 years....i should have reached my goal of classic length (which is about 42") YAYNESS!!!! thats only 4 1/2" away so 3 years should definately do it!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

ive decided that im not going to measure my hair again until the new year cos im soooooooooo bored of being disappointed each month  ::) and then i shall only measure every 3 months....better results that way! mwaha!

im also washing my hair less cos of my college work load. i dont like the icky greasyness on my scalp but that can be hidden with hats and scarves (not to self....buy a hat) but when my scalp is greasy my length is super uber soft! woohooo!!! i lurve it  ;D ill also keep more of my hair as i lose a family of squirrels everytime i comb out my wet hair  :-/ ahwell!

i did a teeny tiny trim yesterday....ends look a bit neater. i didnt feel bad about losing a bit of length now im not measuring for a while. its mad that i feel guilty about trimming! like im going to hurt my hairs' feelings!  ::) ::) ::) crazy lady!

i was on a little research trip with a few of my "class mates" today. i took my hair down cos my figure 8 bun was becoming loose and a girl in my group suddenly said really loudly..."wow! your hair is so long!"  ;D mucho compliments for this flamey bunny! *does happy dance*

GRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW!!! ok...im still mainly concentrating on the health of my hair but it doesnt seem to be growing   :( i think im going to take up scalp massage. but then again i may be surprised...its hard to see growth with this much hair. i want it to be at least 38" when i measure again in January. i have grown to loathe that 37 number  >:( >:( >:(

i bought the best hair scarf thing the other day for £2.99!! its all satiny and a gorgeous electric blue colour! woo! another addition to my "hide the greasy unwashed hair" collection  ::) :D im getting used to only washing twice a week...so much less fuss!

i dont know why but ive only been wearing braids and things recently....todays the first day in ages that ive worn hairsticks/a bun. ive decided that infinity buns and damp weather do wonders for my volume...i took down my hair after coming home from college and it was all thick and lovely which cheered me up after walking home in the dark whilst it was raining.

i found out some great news from a friend! she has hair thats just below the shoulders....soon shes cutting it to just below her chin to get rid of her layers, but then shes growing it to about her waist!!! yay!!! i'm taking it upon myself to coach her  ;D so much fun! shes the first person to say "cool" when told about me growing my hair to my knees...everyone else looks puzzled or says "wont that get annoying?" OR thinks im joking. its a mad, mad world out there....occasionally scary.

if i had magical hair powers, i would.....

-heal all the damage
-heal all the splits
-make it so my hair can never damage or split again
-make all the strands below shoulder length all the same length (i like my face framing tendrils above my shoulders)
-make sure i had an inch growth every month without fail! (i'm limiting it to an inch cos you cant have everything can you?  and i wouldnt want to reach my goals too quickly as it takes out all the fun)
-no more itchy flaky scalp with horrible white crud *yuck*

oh if only i had these magical hair powers

------------------------------

yesterday at college i was cutting off the odd split end when my friend turned to me and said "i wish i could reach my hair like you" (meaning that i could bring the ends of my pigtails up to my face for closer inspection...but she only has shoulder length hair so cannot do this). my other friend chimed in saying that my hair was "so long"
i told them that i was still growing.....telling them about my dreams of knee length hair (when i told them this, they looked like this >>>  :o but in a good way...i think  :P ) they THEN started asking me if i would ever cut it off. i said NO WAY!! even when they asked about cash incentives. i ended up telling them about how attached to your hair you get after you care for it so lovingly and have been with it for a long while.

i love hair conversations!

-------------------

its so random...i look in the mirror just now and all the little tendrils that use to get in my face are shoulder length!  ;D wowie! they will go into an updo, but after a while they fall out. its ok though....they can be tucked behind my ears  :)

change to routine to help my flakey/itchy scalp:

~wash on monday and friday nights (thursdays if going out on friday)

~use head and shoudlers on scalp - rinse

~lightly condition ends with fructus long and strong condtioner

~dilute fructus long and strong shampoo in cup and pour over scalp and length

~rinse out shampoo and conditioner

~condition ends again....put into bun and then a shower cap

~rinse after a few minutes

~comb out hair whilst still wet and apply jojoba oil

seems to work quite well!  :)

Title: Re: ~*Flaming Bunny's Hair Tales*~
Post by flaming_bunny on Nov 23rd, 2004 at 7:05pm
tried something new out this evening when washing.

cos im so bored of combing out my hair and applying jojoba EVERY time after i wash (its so tedious for me), i decided to dilute some (if you call it that) in a cup and do a final rinse on my ends with it.

now, because i also use this cup to dilute my shampoo...it got a tad frothy on top (only a bit cos i had rinsed the cup....though obviously not thoroughly enough) so i had to do i quick rinse after i applied the jojoba+water.....though i couls still smell the jojoba after this so i dont think i rinsed it all away.

my hair is still wet and currently in a bun to keep it out of my way (my back gets cold and damp...not good in november!) so i'll have to post the results tomorrow. i hope it works cos it means i can be a bit more lazy! woo!

How do you deep condition your hair? I'd like to learn to do that at home myself. Now I use just a hair mask, but it's not really the same.

this helped cushion the blow of being completely stood up!  >:( ohwell...its not like im going to see these "friends" again cos they were from my temporary job...but still  >:( >:( >:( >:(

my hair has recently become even more smooth and slippery so it cant stay up in hairsticks anymore!!  >:( its sooooo annoying! bah!

im finding that completely covering my hair in jojoba oil (greasy and slick from root to tip  :) ), leaving it over night and washing in the morning leaves my hair sooooo silky! however i wont be able to do this every time i wash cos i start back at college tomorrow. this means i cant wash in the morning....and im definately NOT going out in public when ALL of my hair is slick grossness. just a weekend treat then.

try a 1/3  jojoba/aloe vera mix on your hair (just a small amount, like a drop of oil and a little blop of AV) and spread it as if you were oiling ... makes hair way less slippery and if you comb it out, the hair is very soft ... AV works in strange ways lol!

gah my hair is all fluffy today  the night before last i let it dry in a braid then rebraided for the day, but then last night i wore a bee-butt bun to bed. the briad waves are conflicting with the bun waves making my hair all weird shaped and FLUFFY! baaaaaaah...me no like fluffy hair. ohwell, the braid ive been wearing today shouldve calmed everything down.

im thinking of doing a major trim on my "face framing tendrils". theyre about shoulder length now (wowzers!  how'd that happen??!) but the ends of them are tatty and split in several places from constant tucking behind the ear and getting caught in my glasses. i did S&D but i think cutting them back to somewhere between chin and shoulder length will do a better job of it. yes...i will do that when i get offline. theyll probably annoy the hell outta me being shorter, but as long as they are long enough to tuck behind my ears it wont be a major deal.

i finally cut the face framing whatsits.....i think i dod a good job of blending them into my normal hair! go me!

ive made a very big decision (well, it feels big for me) im thinking its time for a change.....

im cutting off about 10" of hair

.....not really. had you going though didnt i? no? ohwell then.

anyhoo! back to the change im actually going to make. ive decided that its time to say goodbye to the Fructus Long and Strong shampoo and condish. after saying "its nice...but not wonderful" for quite a while, i suddenly thought last night...."if its only nice, why arent i looking for something thats wonderful for my hair???" ive been using it for the best part of a year and ive realised that over that period the condition of my scalp has gotten worse. ive always had a slighty flakey scalp but never (to my knowledge) had the white itchy white gunk on a regular basis. maybe this is because i used to wash my hair every other day or maybe not. all i know is im changing shampoo/conditioner. ive been using head&shoulders instead of long and strong shampoo for a while now anyway. i might go back to pantene. now, before you throw the rotten vegetables lemme explain  ;) before i found hair forums i always used to use Pantene's volume s/c (an endless battle to make my fine hair thicker) and my hair always looked lovely. id probably use the "classic clean" range though. i dont know. im going to browse the shampoo isle and the supermarket and see whats out there.
what i liked about pantenes volume shampoo is that it "creates a clean foundation" or something like that....basically i think its slightly clarifying. but i have no need for the volume thing so i wont be going back to it.

hmmm...what a puzzlement!   :o

Title: Re: ~*Flaming Bunny's Hair Tales*~

well....ive started using pantenes "classic care" s/c and im VERY pleased. my hair is mucho soft, was easy peasy to detangle and seems to have more oomph  the wash before it was clarifying so it wasnt the effect of fructus carried over...and i didnt use any other products or oils so it did all this by itself  im still going to keep using jojoba oil though.
another change to the routine...ive started to wear my hair down at night again. im going to put it up every now and then but i dont get more tangles when its down....though i do wonder about my hair rubbing against itself, etc. hmmm.

in other news....ive lost my V!!! oh where has it gone?! i trimmed my hair a month ago....its normally grown back by now! ive got a bluntish U thing going on. its not fair cos i longed for this shape to stick for so long...and now ive embraced my V its gone! hmpf! ohwell. no more trimming for a good long while. maybe my hair hasnt grown enough this month to make the V. confuzzlement  ??? ::)

bleurgh....ive got several areas of yellowish/white gunk stuff on my scalp. its not itchy...just gross  :-/ i normally have a bit of this but the patches are bigger, well not bigger, but thicker *shudder*
i investigated my scalp with a mirror and found a chunky patch on the right side of my head (sorry about the TMI)

i think i'll stop using pantene shampoo and use head&shoulders with the pantene conditioner. i really like head&shoulders but for some reason have never used it as a regular shampoo...maybe cos it doesnt have  matching conditioner...me being that weird.

ive also started wearing my hair up in bed again....it was getting tangly and ive noticed more splits than usual.

deary me  ::) will the great hair-goddess ever be happy?

Frick on a stick it's been almost 2 years since I've posted in this thing!  :-/  I was still using Te tao when I posted last....I dumped that stuff pretty quickly.  Turned out it was rubbish.  I've been on the Sunsilk for quite a while now and I'm not going back!

For update on my hair NOW, see my signature and this http://www.longlocks.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1165956457 post.

Look at this fabulous wooden hair fork I got from a place called Tribu in Camden (London) :

Yum!

Thankyou BB!

Well....a new year is upon us!  My hair stands at 43.5"!! Woot!  And recently I've been noticing that the ends tickle the very tops of my thighs!! Heheheheheheheheheh!!  :D  I just keep wondering what my hair will look like at the end of the year (yes, 2 days in and I've already jumped to the end  ::) )  It should be mid thigh-ish by then! yay hair!  Deary me.
It's a bit scary all this hair.  I'm actually beginning to see it as looooooooooooong, which is quite a feat!  I'm quite looking forward to some nicer weather so I can wear it down...either that or a special occasion or night out (hint to bf! lol)  But I've got the majority of the British winter to come yet...so maybe it can all stay up and protected for a while  ;)  I actually bought a hat to keep it under!  Although my 'chunky beret' will only sit on my head if I have a low style (e.g braids), but it's still snazzy and keeps my hair under wraps...not to mention my ears  :D

Tralalalalala...I'm rambling now....so here's a picture of my lovely 'art noveau' (sp?) hair comb!

Enjoy!

Recently I've been on a bit of a 'make my hair browner' kick. Sometimes I get tired of the inbetweenyness of my brown/blonde hair and I, for one, would like to be part of the glittering throng of 'brilliant brunettes' So I've bought Sunsilk's brunette enhancing leave in stuff and also (on another occasion) Superdrug's brunette enhancing deep conditioner. Both contain chesnut 'extract' or whatever, and the Superdrug one also contains henna!
Sunsilk Leave in
Other Sunsilk leave in's I have tried have been excellent and left my hair soft, if a little coated. However, this one (which I applied to damp hair after washing) just made my hair a bit tangly and difficult to comb. Although I DO think that my brown bits were a bit more radiant...constant use could produce good results I think. The smell was a little weird too. I don't think I'm a fan of the chesnut, as nuts go.
Superdrug deep condish
This stuff comes in a HUGE tub and is sort of sparkly! It's really nice and thick too. It was so satisfying to just put my hand in and scoop the thick goop out! So that went on in the place of my normal conditioner. It said to leave on for 5-20mins depending on the amount of treatment needed. I wanted to leave it in for the full 20mins but I really couldn't be bothered to stand around in the cold with a shower cap on so I got back into the shower after about 7mins. When I rinsed it out the water swirling down the plug hole turned orangey-brown...I guess that was the henna! When my hair dried the results were exactly the same as the Sunsilk leave in!!! I don't think my hair likes chesnuts either...thats probably why it fails to commit to the brown colour. *sigh* I'm definately going to try both products again...I can't throw out full tubs of stuff can I??!!!!! Heresy! I think I'll just leave the Superdrug stuff on for aaaaaaaaaaages and maybe not sleep on my wet hair after using either, cos that leads to tangles.

I wanted fun, soft brunette hair dammit!!!!

I still can't believe my hair brushes the tops of my thighs!!!!!!! It's crazy.  ;D

I don't know if other people find this when they scalp wash, but for me it never gets my hair 100% clean and I wind up really greasy again within about 2 days. Scalp washing never even touches the slight greasiness at my nape which is annoying. It's still easier than a full wash twice a week, and the greasies left at my nape don't really matter I suppose, because I always put my hair up...but I'd still like clean hair dammit!!!!!

I've been day-dreaming about having knee-length hair again. It's going to look sooooo uber cool. Once I've trimmed and thickened up the ends that is I probably will never be able to wear it down but it'll still look spectactular! (I'm not tooting my own horn......I just think knee-length hair will rock alright?) Before that though I have to get to mid-thigh and trim up my spindly ends....which are getting spindly-er by the month. I don't think I'm too far off mid-thigh though...maybe 3 more inches? It's difficult to see when your ends are see-through They only tend to show up on black....thank gods that's what my wardrobe is filled with! But people rarely see my ends now anyway because I am absolutely in love with the gibralter bun!!! Such a life saver...and I can even do it with my Tribu fork without the help of pins or elastics! (I've been on a quest for such a style ever since I bought that fork).

:D

I'd love to see a picture of you gilbralter bun.

Hang in there - it sounds like you will reach your knee-length goal - keep up the good work.
