My Bun Pics
Jun 7

I am posting several pictures of my hair in a bun with a hair stick I bought at Sally's. It was a very hot and humid day so I figured this was an easy way to cope with it.
I expected that my hair would be a mess when I took it down since I perspired a lot. Much to my suprise it came out kinda nice.
Just thought I'd share.

Great bun! Looks like you have the trick figured out on holding the bun with 1 stick - congrats.
I love the soft waves that a bun creates. I frequently bun my hair when damp and let it dry that way specifically to get the waves.
Your hair looks great!

I agree, the bun looks great. I'm sure it feels nice and cool on your neck
Have you tried doing the figure 8 bun which was discussed in another thread (I think under trendy hairstyles)? I'm sure it would suit you!

Thanks for your complement!
I did one with a pencil before - what do you think?
Kind of crude but it worked. I think the pencil did some damage, so I don't reccomend using one for this.
Needs some work.

Wow! I think I like that one better! I love those bigger buns, they always look so interesting.
And while it's a fun schoolmarmy touch, I suppose pencils aren't -quite- the thing nowadays.
You should try using a hairstick which contrasts significantly with your hair color, I liked that effect that the pencil gave!

The figure 8 looks great as well! I've been known to use pencils many times for holding my hair in a bun - they are a great quick tool to use when there is nothing else to use.
You do need to be a bit careful with the pencil point to make sure the wood is smooth and won't catch your hair when putting it in.

Yep - I found that out the hard way Bikerbraid. The bun was also twisted too tight I think. I did some damage I'm sure.
Oh well live and learn I guess.
I won't be using pencils any more.
Thanks for the suggestion Kate. I'll look for something with a contrasting color.
