How about taking the hair that you pull back and put that hair into a bun with a pretty hairstick?

How about a French braid?  Or twin French braids?

Twin French braids have been a life-saver for me, since my hair is still quite short on the sides. I clip the braids together in the back for a very short ponytail.

How curly is your hair, JDGirl? Mine is Julia Roberts curly, but if I brush it it goes all bushy and wavy. I find that it makes it easier to French braid if the relevant part is brushed. Misting lightly with water helps too, have you tried braiding while your hair is still damp?

And who cares if your hair makes a big bun! I'm sure it looks great Smiley Otherwise, why don't you try a double bun? There are instructions on this site.

Good luck!

/Kate
