hi!
Aug 10th, 2004 at 2:33am

hi - i've been reading this site for a few weeks and i've found it very informative and helpful - it's really nice to know i'm not crazy - my friends keep telling me i need my hair shorter and layered - i really hate layers - i don't know why they all think i need them - i would never be able to deal with all the shorter hairs - ya - just my opinon - but ya - i like my long hair - o and the questions here:

How long is your hair? - i haven't actually measured it yet but it's about four inches or so from my waist

What color is your hair? - also not sure - it's either dirty blond or light brown depending on who i ask

Is your hair straight/curly/wavy? - straight - and i wouldn't want it any other way

Do you have favorite products to use on your hair? - not really - i'm now using tressemme shampoo and conditioner - i was using bio form bath and body works but they stopped making it i think - o well - o and pantene does bad things to my hair so i don't know if my hair like cones cause it likes the tressemme but not pantene - i don't know

What are your favorite hair accessories?  - hairstick - they just keep it all out of the way - expecally at school - when my hair is down and i go to pick up my backpack - half the time i end up with my hair wrapped around my neck - lol

ok - i've said enough about myself - sorry about my spelling

Hi LauraLiz

Being a U student, I understand what you mean about the backpack thing... I stopped carrying a laptop bag because it misaligned my lower back. The backpack is great, but it does require some sort of hair restraint. Mine used to get stuck under the straps, and I wouldn't find out until I couldn't turn my head!

And oh, don't ever second-guess your sanity when it comes to your hair!

Welcome to Longlocks!

it does the same thing to me, my hair gets caught every time, by the way, my first day of high school went well and there is a 10th graderwith hair down to her hips.  It was really scraggly and during Latin she kept pulling and breaking her hair, it was so sad.  I wish I could refer her here but she is really quite scary.  Allow me to explain, she wore a shirt wwith nightmare-before chirstmas stuff on it and really long black pants the friged about a foot on the ground, ((((((((((shiver))))))))))
any ways, yeah, good luck lauraliz!

Welcome!

It sounds like our hair is quit similar.  Mine was very straight when I was in high school.  I have no idea where the waves that I now have came from  Roll Eyes.

Long hair is usually a statement of individuality - don't let anyone take that from you.

Welcome Lauraliz!  Smiley

I know what you mean about having problems with your backpack. It happens to me all the time, no matter how careful I am to keep my hair out of the way. I've just gotten used to not being able to turn my head.  Roll Eyes

I like Tresemme products as well. What shampoo do you use?

Drummergirl, you're already in school? Wow, you start early! I don't go back until the 25th. *shudder* I don't even want to think about it...

Lauraliz, what grade are you in?

i'm gonna be in 11th grade when school starts on the 23 - great fun -  o and bye the way - there is no way i'm letting anyone convice me to cut my hair - i like it to much - i'm still not sure how long i'll let it grow though - i don't think i want it much longer than my waist because i don't want to be sitting on it all the time - and i don't like braiding it a lot because when i unbraid it it's all fluffy and wavy and tangles a lot - i don't know - i'll just let it grow until i can deside

Hey drummergirl08! That girl in your Latin class sounds alot like me when I was in highschool. I remember always overhearing people describing me as "scary". I'm sure if you talked to the girl she wouldn't bite you. Lol. The way people dress usually has almost nothing to do with their state of mind (ok, that's not always true, but isn't it worth a shot at making a friend that doesn't think long hair needs to me cut?) Also, Nightmare before Christmas was an awesome clay movie. Just because someone is wearing something printed with it's characters doesn't mean anything, and maybe she just liked it. And anyways, black goes with anything! I think you should help her save her hair, after all, how would you feel if you were damaging your hair like that?

Your hair is beautiful!!  I like your lego hut - very cute.

FYI, to insert a picture, you can click on the button for the YABBC tag that looks like a picture.  That will insert the beginning and ending tags for the image, then just put the location of the picture between the tags.

Lauraliz -

your hair is very beautiful! so much shine!!!
Learning how to treat your beautiful hair correctly in young adulthood is invaluable to those with long hair goals!!!  I can't wait to see future photos!

When I was in highschool (decades ago - my son is a sophomore in high school now) I was foolish enough to "play" with my once soft and shining medium brown hair:  I assaulted it with perms, heat-styling, bleaching, more bleaching, more bleaching.....
By my senior year I had dry, overprocessed, white-blonde fly-away hip- length hair... what a disaster!!!!!

The result - I was forced to cut 12 inches off - so my hair was between bra strap and waist length (the shortest my hair has ever been).... and I dyed it to the color I believed was it's original color... it took an additional 6 years to grow out the natural, undamaged hair and slowly trim off the terrible mess I'd made..... HOW I WISH I'D HAD A SITE LIKE THIS TO GO TO FOR INFORMATION AND SUPPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
