I´m SO happy!
Nov 21st, 2004 at 5:00pm

Hey ya, I just can´t describe how happy I am at the moment. I could just jump and smile here.

So... I measured in the 1st November and my hair was about 27cm long. I had a 1,5cm trim the 2nd November (I made sure that the haidresser took off just 1,5cm and no more), so measurement after that was about 25,5cm. I started to take 2500mcg biotin daily in the end of October and I´m sure that it has something to do with that today my hair was 27,5cm long! That means that my hair has grown 2cm in three weeks, and normally my hair grows just 1,2cm in a month!

I´m so happy!  Cheesy

Whoo-Hoo!  Grin

Glad your hair is growing so quickly for you! Biotin does wonders. When I first started taking it over a year ago, (one pill a day at 5000mcg a pill) it gave my hair such a boost!  Cheesy

Styg, I bought mine from this site:

www.swansonvitamins.com

They will ship internationally. The only problem is that its a bit expensive to ship to Europe. I've done it a few times, however, and haven't had to pay import duty.

NO KIDDIN' !!! i've quite often paid more port than the actual order was worth. especially when there's glass stuff involved  Angry
(not to even start about the port and tax on painting stuff full of goodies like lead and mercury)

i think this time i will really comb out the local health food stores or maybe try in Paris since i go there in three days.

i bought jojoba and rosemary EO (and little glass bottles with drop counters) on http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/
and they have tons of nice goodies (and interesting looking shampoos/conditioners) but the port i paid is hilarious (like $40 for a $25 order)

ad finally i saw jojoba in our own shop ...  Roll Eyes

btw ... is the dimension mcg micrograms like ... µg? it's the only thing that seems to make sense to me that is. i was once taking pills against acne that contained 0.065 mg (or 65 µg) biotin (43.3% of daily needs). you were supposed to take two daily, so 130 micrograms. so aaccording to those pills, daily need is around 150 micrograms.
you're really taking such high doses or do you used some unknown dimension to me?

Styg, you understood correctly. One pill contains 2,5mg = 2500mcg (micrograms) biotin. Biotin is the same as vitamin H and it´s water-soluble, so taking larger amounts will not do any harm.

What Kata says is right. It's a water soluble vitamin that has no known bad side effects when taken in higher doses. (Since you wee most of it out anyway!)

So what I was taking was 5mg...or 5000mcg. (I don't know how to do that little curly "m" that you did.  Undecided)

Biotin is often mentioned as vitamin H and also as vitamin B8. Both are right  Smiley. But true, not very simple system indeed.
