hi everyone, my name is Lyn, I'm 17,  a college freshmen, uhm and I've been pressed by many of my peers to chop off my hair...so I'm trying to find a support group lol. Anyways, I was looking at your website, and you all seem pretty cool, so I figured what the heck, give it a shot. As far as my hair, well, it's medium brown, all one length, very straight, relatively thick. The length of it is 27" if I measure it from my front hairline, up over the back of my head, to the ends...I think that's how I understand you all to describe measuring...anyways, that's me  Roll Eyes

Welcome Arwen! Don't cave under pressure and fall into the mold of cuttin your hair! You're hair sounds lovely as it is.

I'm sure you'll find plenty of encouragement in amongst these various threads. Look forward to seeing your posts.

HI & WELCOME!  Grin Don't let anyone convince you to cut your hair when you don't want to, you have it the way you want. It's your hair and you are the one who has to live with it!

Hi and welcome! Nice to meet another elf  Grin .

You'll definitely find support here- I think that most people who have long hair have at least in some point put up with people who think that they should cut their hair.

But your hair is yours, and you can wear it just as long  you like. If you plan to cut, do it because you are convinced that you'd like your hair better that way- not because others press you. They can do whatever they want with their own hair.

Your hair sounds beautiful- I'm trying to get mine that long.  Grin

Welcome Arwen!  What everyone else said....if you really want shorter hair okay, but remember it takes soo looong to grow it back --as I'm finding out!  If you like your long hair, keep it.  It's always a big step to start college, but that doesn't mean you have to change things you like!
Anyway, glad you found your way here -- what do you like about your long hair?

Welcome Arwen! Smiley

I've always looked towards college as a time when I can shed the conformation and expectations of high school and start anew as being completely myself. One would think that college-age people would be more open and accepting of people's style preferences and diversity in general. People are so willing to accept anything and everything these days - it seems like we should have gotten over such trivial things like how one wears one's hair.  Undecided  Ah well, good for you for standing up for individuality!

17 and already in college  Shocked I'm a year older than you and won't be going until this autumn! Did you skip a grade or something?
