Belated hello
Feb 23rd, 2005 at 4:06am

I've been looking around on the site for awhile and responding to anything I have advice about.  Thought I'd finally introduce myself.

I'm 20 years old, living on the West Coast.  Trying to decide what I want to do for a living and if I'd like to go to beauty school just to do it.  I love to do hair and makeup and nails.  I'd LOVE to know how to do the elaborate braids I've seen pictures of on this site and various other sites.

I don't have anything amazing or fantastic to tell you about, my hair is 6 inches long after a hair disaster that I posted about on another board (can't remember which one offhand) and I'm trying to keep patient enough for it to grow out long like it used to be.

Before I started killing my hair with dyes, it was about waist length and very thick, and really very beautiful (too bad I didnt realize it then!).  It grew out brown then turned into auburn and finally strawberry blonde, and had a slight wave to it.  I'd walk down the street and cars would slow waaaaay down, then you'd see guys peeking thru the rearview mirror...hehe Smiley  I know you all have seen guys do this!!!  Any man who says he doesnt appreciate long hair on a woman is either lying or in denial.   Roll Eyes

My sister also has fabulous hair.  It's at about hip length, light brown/blonde and wavy and just amazingly thick, and I'm insanely jealous every time I see her.  If she will let me I'll post a picture of her hair, I promise you you have never seen hair like this in your life!  And if I can find a pic of my hair when it was long, Ill post that also but I think the photo albums are put away somewhere.

This site is a lifesaver for me, every time I get the urge to do something to my hair I just come here and look at all the beautiful long hair and remind myself that patience WILL be rewarded!

Never look at beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.

Welcome Nysq!

Many of us regret what we took for granted when we had long hair previously.  Just keep telling yourself, that at least this time you will take care of it and appreciate it!

Welcome aboard nysq  Smiley
We, all, are growing out our hair, no matter what our current length is. So here you are among like-minded people and you will find support.
Since you are growing out your hair from a very short length and since you now know what to do and how to take care of it, eventually you will healthy and shiny hair all the way. Some of us, who start with some length already there, have other kinds of problems to battle with. Just be patient  Smiley

Belated welcome!

Share any skills you might learn in beauty school about taking care of long hair with us!

I can do a few elaborate braids, I hope to be of some assistance some time.

Hope to see you around,
