Howdy!
Feb 23rd, 2005 at 2:49pm

Hello from Missouri!  I just yesterday decided to grow out my hair.  I happened upon this site and, though I'm still exploring, love it so far.  Here's a little bit about me...

I'm 43, married with grown children, have brunette hair that is currently very short.  Two years ago my dark blonde (natural colour) hair fell out due to a round of chemo I had to undergo.  Last year when my hair started growing again it came back in brown so now, TA-DA!  I'm a brunette!   Smiley  After being bald for many months I had decided to let it grow and by December my hair was just at the top of my shoulders.  Then I got a wild "hair", excuse the pun, and got it all chopped off.  I don't know what I was thinking, I was sorry as soon as the stylist started snipping...although, it's probably better that I *did* cut off all of my hair because I'm sure it was probably damaged from the traces of chemo.

So!  Here it is two months later, my hair is very short but very healthy and, by golly, I want it loooonnngg.  I had long hair as a child but started whacking on it when I was about 14 and it's never been really long since.  But now I am determined to have long locks once more!  Looking forward to reading and posting here!

Thanks,
Trisha in MO

Hi Trisha!  Welcome to our little corner of the internet.  As it has already been mentioned, lots of people here are growing out their hair and are in various stages of growth.  We all help each other to grow and keep out hair as long and healthy as possible.

Good luck on your growing journey - I hope to hear lots about it!

Hello!  Fellow cancer survivor here.  I am not real active on this board, but I heard about you and wanted to come say hi.   Smiley

My entire year of 2003 was spent in chemo and a bone marrow transplant.  I was bald for about 11 months of that year.  I've been in remission since April 2004.  My hair was 42" the day I got it cut off to prepare for chemo.  Now I'm in the process of growing it back out.  It first started poking through about Dec. 2003 and is now 6 inches, darker, very curly.  I was also dark blonde and now have brown hair that kinda bleaches in the summer.

Email me at saxgirl1972@yahoo.com if you want to commiserate on cancer survivor stuff.  Smiley  I'll try to get better at keeping up on this board.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.  I've already become addicted to this site--spent most of Wednesday reading previous posts (sshh, don't tell my boss)!   Cheesy

Welcome!  Smiley

I'm another grower. I started growing my hair from bald (though I was voluntarily bald) in latter half of 2001. Growing from zero length will take a bit time, but it's very rewarding. And being a member on a longhair board is a great way to pass time!  Grin

We won't tell your boss if you won't tell ours!  Yes, we all know how addicting this site can be.  Luckily there is no cure!

As for the older posts - feel free to "re-activate" any of them that tickle your fancy, with your own comments.
