If you want to grow your hair long, the main thing is to keep it healthy. Not just "healthy looking" like shampoo commercials say, but really healthy.

Most common hair type in my country is fine and thin. In my opinion the sleek, smooth look of a fine, thin hair can be very beautiful, and people with other hairtypes are sometimes willing to go quite far in order to achieve that look you have naturally. Not to mention, that fine hair has naturally more shine than more coarse hair types. I believe that part of long hair journey is learning to accept your hair as it is and see the positive sides of your hairtype.

There are hair friendly methods of curling etc. But honestly, I don't think that you can really "hide" your hairtype well. I think it might be better to pursue a long, healthy hair that makes your hair the best it can be.

I have fairly thin hair too and I have found that after I wash it and it is almost dry but the ends are slightly damp I braid it. It seems like the braids makes it  appear thicker plus giving my stick straight hair some body and waves.
