i didn't give in yet to cutting ... hair rant

Grin or better:  Cry
~¤ sobs ¤~

oh way, i suppose it got worse yesterday with hormones acting on my mood, but i've been unhappy with my hair for nearly a month. it's been weeks since it holds any braid waves, it is supper sleek and i wonder if just an extra 0.5" can pull it down soo much? most of all, i seem to have passed a length were those layers just seem to make fun of me. especially my last havilly tappered layer is still inches away and then there's little tapper til the ends and it looks kinda weird. i was wondering about cutting off 2" in the hope to make the whole thing a bit more coherent, but now i think about trying to cut my ends in a U so the sides don't flip up so stupidly.

argh, i am rather close to tailbone, my goal. decided months ago any longer will just add to flatness and not to beauty. i just don't have the hairtype nor volume to have it any longer. i am already ranting now LOL.

BLAH!

good news: I AM GOING TO NYC !!! (in the end of october)
i have to start thinking about a shopping list  Grin

(((((HUGS))))))

A good rule of thumb - it you are trying to grow long hair, always wait 2 weeks before making any drastic changes to your hair.  If you still feel the need to cut, trim, color, or what ever, then you will have given it enough thought that you won't regret your decision.  If you are not sure, then wait another 2 weeks.

I've been "waiting 2 weeks" for about 6 years now.   Grin

LOL!!!
i think i am going through an annoying phase were my hair hangs very differently because of gravity. (i so envy those wavy / curly people who never seem to go through that). i think it's just awkward cuze of it's current "in between" length. i hope to reach tailbone soon so i can reallly start doing big cuts regularly. today i'll probably trim a cm or two.

I agree with BB.  Maybe you could cut off .5 inches and see how it works for a few days?  Your hair is sooo long and gorgeous.  I have serious hair envy.

Want to trade hair types for a while? Tongue  I'm a 2a.

Yes I would trade hair with you too, in an instant.
I've been waiting 2 weeks for about 1/2 years now, too
LOL
I have some thin, previously bleached ends that really need trimming- I'm
waiting for Sept 16 on the Lunar calendar
I've decided to trim quarterly by the lunar calendar.
I have dyed hair that needs to slowly be trimmed off
or I would trim even less often.
Maybe you could trim just a tiny bit 1/8,or 1.4 sometimes that really makes a difference- surprisingly enough.

that was what i was doing!!! for months i trimmed more or less nearly 1/4" /month. i skipped june cuze i wanted to see what i actually grow a month. i think won't do that anymore lol. i get immediately cutting obsessions. i will be microtrimming in a few hours (red date for root work). first : fireworks woohoo.
btw: i cooled down about the hair. was figuring i don't really wear it down during summer anyhow.  Roll Eyes

You can threaten your hair with the scizzors, but think very carefully on that. There are days, as I'm detangling and detangling and detangling and aha, i have it smooth only find another knot! At that point, I say to me hair, "Hair! Pay attention or you shall feel my wrath!". So then I detangle, and detangle and detanlge, and finally get it to the point I can do something with it. Why tell you all this? Because by the next day, my hair has listened to me and is scared of the scrizzors and behaves like it should

Give it several days before doing anything drastic. Your hair is too, too precious to hurt.  Wink

(((((Styg))))) I'm glad you found a solution you liked. Your hair is awe-inspiring. I've seen your bigger, natural-light pictures and your hair color looks so wonderful with the regular henna treatments. I think end fury can be helped with a bit of sock curling too.

Hugs and faery blessings

my hair seems absolutely to refuse holding any curl or wave. normally i cann even BBbrush my hair without losing the curl. oh well, i'll just be happy with what i have. i think i was in an exceptionally bad mood that day lol.
