Long hair dreams
Aug 1st, 2005 at 2:34pm

I've had two dreams lately in as many weeks where my hair was long, down to my waist.  It was pretty and healthy and a little wavy.   Smiley  Each time I woke up happy because I had seen myself with long hair.  So is my wishful thinking influencing my dream life?  Or perhaps these are visions of things to come?  Did anybody else have long hair dreams while growing out their locks?  It's pretty cool whatever the reason!

I've had dreams that my hair was below my waist, when my hair was chin length, and I was dying to cut it. I think that is what helped me resist the urges to just give up and cut it. That has been 2 years ago, and my hair is at bra strap length and I love it.

I read something in a magazine one time that really worked well for me: It said that if you are thinking about cutting your hair, tape the picture of the hairstyle to your bathroom mirror, for two weeks and if you still like it after the two weeks then go for it. Well I switched this advice around. I took a picture of someone that had very long hair, and put my picture in their face, and that was my goal, and it really helps resist the temptations and urges to cut. It may sound a little weird but it got me through it.

I always advocate the 2 week wait before doing anything drastic to your hair, whether it be cutting, coloring, perming or straightening.

As I've mentioned before, I've been waiting 2 weeks for many many years to cut my hair.  Grin

Some of you might remember me. I have been trying to grow my hair after I bleached it three times and ruined it. Well, sence december, my hair has made it from the middle of my neck, to about an inch past my shoulder. Its getting there. I also dyed my hair back to the natural color so it can grow out without looking tacky. I hope to have my hair to the middle of my back and I cannot wait! It will be SO nice to have super long, soft and shiny hair! No more dye! This time, I am going to have long hair! Good luck everyone!

a Puerto Rican! Hey, welcome back Smiley Best of luck in growing, and meanwhile you might want to start a Personal Hair Journal to keep track of hair stuff too Wink To pass the time, that is...

Happy growing

Whatever I get really "into",  I get the dreams.  Very literal too.

I think they help keep us excited ...g

Had another long hair image in my dream last night.  The dream itself was nothing exciting--I think it was just a vehicle for my hair imagination, if you will.  In the dream, my husband and I were in a store looking at something and my (this time shoulder length) hair kept getting in my face.  So I twisted it gently into a bun and it stayed.  I was like, "Look, I can make a bun!"  *lol*  And that was it, I woke up after that!

I think these are things to come!  Let's hope they are.

I haven't had any hair dreams, but recently I've had hair STICK dreams.  One of those reoccurring ones where I keep clicking the submit button to order them on a website.  LOL  Over and over and over again.

A few months ago, I had TWO dreams about doing CO washes and my hair wasn't getting clean and I had to be somewhere in a hurry. I can pretty much figure those dreams out, I want to try CO because of all the good things I've heard about it...But my OCD behavior won't allow me to. Darn!  Cry

That is such a great feeling, being able to put your hair into a bun. Once you can it's like, 'hey, I can do this, I don't have to keep cutting my hair'.

I just saw this thread today.  It reminded me of when I was in middle or high school, i used to have dreams that I had bright golden blonde hair in a ponytail like Madonna used to have (blonde ambition time i think).  it was weird since I have very dark brown hair.  i guess it was my way of seeing something different on myself.

wow lelslietexas1 your hair is soooooo long. How long did it take to get it that length?

I don't think I have ever dreamt about my hair, long or short. I wanted long hair as a child but my mother wouldn't ever let me grow it and used to cut if for me herlself, so short I used to cry. As soon as I left home I started to grow it and have gone through years of having it short then long then short again but I much prefer it long, I feel it is much easier to deal with long though it can get in the way sometimes as I have trouble putting it up and finding something strong enough to make it stay. I usually just put it in a hair tie of some sort. I have never tried hair sticks but would really appreciate some advice on them. How do they keep the hair in place?

Hi, Jules.  Great avatar-your hair is gorgeous.
Regarding hair sticks...although my hair is not that long I have a lot of it so I most often put an elastic around a pony (kind of loosely), twist the hair into a bun and pin it with 3-5 bobby pins and one or two hair pins because I have some layers in my hair.  Then I add the hair sticks.  For my hair they are decoration more than holding the hair up.  This works for me-I've got more than 130 pairs of sticks!
