I just bought some and was wondering what you guys thought of Loreal color pulse?I was thinking this might go on the product review board but it is a temporary hair dye so I figured I'd put it here

I don't recognize the name right off.  I generally recognize boxes.  Is it temp, one that is supposed to have "extra color" or the ones you use for streaks of color like blue or green?

It's a cordless phone sized orange metalic box. It says It makes you hair 'pulse' with color. It'll last 8-10 washings and comes in mostly red tones.

So this is over the counter store bought color, not proffesional color?

I am a colorest also and do high end corrective color, I would rather not comment if it is not proffetional color, as most of my corrective  color comes from those types of color.

That's a really great sight.  I looked up some of my favorite products and it was interesting to see what other people thought of them.  Thanks!

Oh, I saw that at the store. I haven't tried it myself, but I think a lab assistant I worked with this past spring used it. She used one of the red shades and it looked quite nice on her medium-brown hair. This was towards the end of the semester so I don't know how long it lasted.

As for it being bad, since it's supposed to wash out, I don't think it would damage your hair as much as a longer lasting dye. Depending on the ingredients, damage would probably be minimal. (ETA: But that's only a guess. )

Always do a strand test.

When I was 18 I decided to dye my hair red, and had the salon do a temporary color that was supposed to wash out in 6-8 washes.  I had red hair till I grew out and was cut off.  I even went in to have it corrected to blond and the best they could do was turn me strawberry blond.

I've seen it in the stores- wanted to try it but can't- since I have bleach in my hair- I don't think you can put it over bleach.
If I had my natural color, I'd try it!

I tried the Lively Auburn Color pulse at the beginning of the summer.  (My last summer of freedom -- I wanted to do something crazy.)  Since my hair is so long, I had to use two bottles, but I will say that I was most pleased with the result.  It was really strong at first (even shocked the priest at church!  Wink ), but it gradually faded.  I don't wash my hair but once a week, so it lasted all summer.  About halfway through, it was a very pretty shade, and people were asking me if there was any way I could make it permanent!

Thanks for sharing your pics.  Your hair looks to have a lot of red showing in the sun - I love red highlights.

What a pretty color!  I'm glad it worked out for you.  So is it all washed out now or do you still have some color?

Yup, it's all washed out now.  It seemed like there was still a little lingering beyond the 10 shampoo point, but that may have just been me...  Smiley
