Hi
Sep 5th, 2005 at 1:06am

Hi all,
I love this website and have been reading these boards for a while now.  I finally decided to register and say hi.  I found the LL site when I was looking for ideas on how to put up my long hair.  I almost always wore my hair down until it started to get way too much attention and i kept sitting on it.  I had never heard of CO or CWC or cones or any of that stuff before.  I guess I'll tell a few hair stats. Here goes:
Length of Hair:  49 in. measured from my front hairline over my head and straight down.  I didn't know how else to do it.
Color/texture: dark brown/very straight
Thickness:  I would call it thin now.  It used to be thick, but I've noticed that onve it got past my butt, it started to thin out.  I wonder why.
Hair care routine:  I use regular shampoo/conditioners from the grocery store.  I only shampoo the scalp though.  I try to braid at night.  I get it trimmed every two to three months.
Leaving it loose is a hard habit to break.  I love my hair loose mostly, but I'm very shy about the comments.  Maybe someone has some advice about that.
I'm going to attempt to link to a picture, hopefully it works.  I look forward to communicating with yall more.

WOW!  Your hair is so long!!!

It sounds like you're doing a great job keeping your hair happy!  Don't worry about other comments besides the positive ones =)

It doesn't look that thin either.  Welcome aboard.

Hi and welcome! Your hair is so beautiful and long!
I think that in your length, it's quite normal to have some thinning in the ends. For many people, thinning starts much earlier, so you are actually lucky. Smiley
You might start experimenting with vitamin supplements, they could strenghten the hair. Another thing you can do is to protect those ends and keep them moisturized. They must be near 10 years old, and even in best care, a hair that old is pretty fragile. Oiling and misting might do some good, as well as keeping the hair contained in updos or braids. HTH Smiley
