Now, you know, I cannot deny the hair goddesses their wishes...

...

Besides, I too like my new hair toy. We were at TRF (Texas Renaissance Festival) this weekend.
My hair made me buy it.  Grin

NR your hair looks great! Grin  Love the new hair toys.  I have two of those my sister-in-law gave me from our old Ren fest.  I have the same one you have in black and a shorter on in green.  I wish we still had a Ren Fest in Ontario.. Cry

Thanks!  I really wanted to see the beads on that hair wrap - very cool.  8)

I can't help but notice the tail with the hair wrap on the wall - there must be a story there.  I'm sure S.F. can help us decipher the true meaning.  Grin

Oh, and your hair has excellent taste!  You should always follow its suggestions.

Looks very cool, I love creative hair...well, creative anything!  Did you need help putting that in, or are you just that darn dextrous?  You would definetly turn my head if you passed me on the street!  Wink

Oh my! That's pretty nifty.... is it a hair lacer? I love the contrast of the beads on your dark hair color. Smiley

Thank-you, thank-you, EVERYONE.  Smiley

Pardon me for actually not quoting, but I shall attempt to answer all questions.

As I've already said, this past weekend was our traditional TRF weekend. TRF actually runs for about a month and a half, located in Plantersville, TX. This is about 30-50 miles outside of Houston. As we (the "royal" we, of course)  are in Dallas, we cannot attend, but once a year. For Scarborough which occurs in April to June in Waxahachie, we go much more often. That RenFest is only an hour away.

Anywho... I wish I was as dextrous as the kind lass who placed the hair wrap in my hair. I had her do it because I wanted the French braid look. This is a braid that I've wanted to try, but had no clue how to start on myself. Now, I have to confess that what "appears" to be a French braid, is not; however, I did get a clue as to how to start a French braid. The hair wrap isn't actually braided into the hair! The beads slide and all the hair wrap does is sort of like a very, very long hair elastic. She, the lovely lass proprietess, took sections from the top of my hair, wrapped them in a pony tail, then twisted the hair wrap around the hair! Simple, doing it on someone else.... This will require a great deal of practice on my part this winter. However, at the simplest style, again it's nothing more than a long hair elastic. Instead of being stretchy, the beads help hold the twists in place. Very, very cool.

The poor lass kept apologizing because it had been ages since she'd done this style. Her hair appeared to be about BSL length. Still, I think she did a wonderful job and far better than I could've done. The other cool thing is that at Scarborough, where they also sell their wares, I can come anytime and have them put the gizmo in my hair! Little do they know that I shall take them up on this offer at every opportunity!

I must confess that the color of the leather and the bead choice took me a good deal of time. I was leaning toward a black leather so that I could wear the toy with a variety of the ren fest outfits. They all have different color palettes. Yes, before you ask, pictures will be forthcoming as soon as KDH cuts me a CD from her camera. She forwarded this one knowing I wished to use it as my new avatar. As I was deciding and commenting to KDH that I really wanted something neutral to go with my costumes, she said the sand would look dynamic with my hair. As you all have commented and I discovered at the time, she was absolutely correct. It was funny because what you see in the picture, in front of my face, is half the color pallete. I was stretching my bubba tail against the colors to see what worked well. After leather color choice, the bead choice came fairly easy.

As to the pony tail on the wall.... well we might have to make a "special" entry in my journal for that story....  Grin

OH! I forgot to mention, the name of this particular shop is "The Leather Rose" and they travel all across the US.  Figured I might as well given them a plug.

Ooooo - the Leather Rose!  Yes!  They are at the Minnesota RenFest too!  I spent much time in their shop drooling over all the lovely leather goods!  I tried to have them put a hair lacer in my hair, but they were not sure they trusted themselves trying to do my classic length hair, so I went and had it braided instead.

They did a great job on your hair.  I look forward to the rest of your pictures.
