I posted this over at the LHC, but I know we've got a bunch of crafty people here who can help out, too.

The
Orphan Foundation of America is seeking handmade (crocheted or knitted) scarves to put in their Valentine's Day care packages sent to orphaned college students.
Their goal is 2500 scarves by January 20, 2006. The scarves don't have to be red; they can be any color.
Scarves can be sent to:
Orphan Foundation of America
Red Scarf Project
12020 D North Shore Drive
Reston, VA 20190
Put a tag on each scarf with your name, city, and group affiliation (if any).
They ask that you include your email address in the package to the foundation as well.
You can contact the National Events Coordinator, Annalisa Assaadi, at:
afa@orphan.org, 703-821-8869
I know we're all crunched for time with the holidays coming up, but it doesn't take all that much time to make one little skinny scarf by Jan. 20th, does it?

I'm starting mine tonight. I'm even putting the ^%*&# ruana on hold till this is done. 8)
