Guess Who's Back?
Dec 24th, 2005 at 6:45am

Hi Everyoooone. Smiley After having a long run of good hair days, my hair is unhappy again. Really, REALLY unhappy. Back in September, I trimmed my hair about 4 inches and everything was swell. At the moment I am staying with a friend in NY and when I first got here...My hair was fine, it actually got really soft at first and nowww...its not so much that its not soft, but its HUGE. My hair has become massive, its fluffy and big and tangly. So far I have chalked it up to the water here in the Bronx, but I cant take it anymore. I thought maybe it was dry...So I've oiled, or maybe I was wearing it down too much, so I've kept it up. I dabbled with cones, but my hair felt funny, almost sticky...But still BIG. Any ideas whats causing this?

Also, I've recently noticed a cone in my leave-in that I know didnt have it in the past, that was the whole reason I bought it! So, is there any differance in cones, are any worse than others? This one has Amodimethicone.

All in all, my hair is angry...I am losing my desire to keep it...I need some pick me ups, suggestions...Anything...HEEEELP.  Undecided

Hey! don't do hasty things! This too shall pass.
I have no remedies to offer, but remember that you don't live there where the problem occurs. You are, eventually, heading back home, where big hair was not a problem for you. So lay low and let it do its thing.
Meanwhile someone, I'm sure, will come up with some more helpful ideas. Cheesy

Hi Atlantis!

Eeee big hair!  Okay I use live in New York so I know that the water is a bit crapy also it can be the humidity in the air as well.  One thing is you can wash your hair with bottled water.  Then keep your hair up so your not constantly looking at it and going aaaah!  Like greek lady said don't do anything hasty!!  Hey get to see ya again!

Welcome back!

I'd also suggest a good clarifying and see how things work out.  The change in water and seasons may be the cause, but making sure you don't have any product build up is a good place to start.

You might also try using just a regular conditioner as your leave-in instead of your current product.

Hope you get something to work for you!

Hey Atlantis, long time no see!

When my hair goes crazy, I try to throw it into a french braid and let it stay like that overnight.  It usually causes the hair to form waves and it gets rid of the killer poof.

Post more often, I missed hearing from you! =P

~¤scratches head¤~ the water in manhattan was pretty incredibly good quality ... or better: coing strangely didn't work but my hair was incredibly soft! but personally i prefer big hair  8) - i just entirely hate this super smooth slippery hair that doesn't even stay up grrrrrr
