Tulip Trying To Grow
Dec 29th, 2005 at 4:56am

Hey everyone!  My name's Tulip and I'm trying to grow my hair to my waist (approx. 28 inches from my scalp).  So far it's short and dyed red (which I'm hating).  I'm naturally a brunette and have had an extremely hard time growing it really long.  Getting it to my collarbone was a big achievement for me!  I've worked it out to take around 5 years to do and I've joined to support others and hopefully get the same in return!  Thanks!

Welcome, Tulip!  Ah, yes, patience for hair to grow.  I'm stuggling with that, too!!
Do you plan on continuing to color your hair?

Hello, Tulip  Smiley

You've certainly come to the right place for support. Do you have any short-term hair goals? I am currently waiting on 24 inches myself, so I kind of know where you stand.

Your natural haircolour sounds lovely. I would just about kill to have long, shiny, dark hair. Alas, mine is light brown.  Undecided So you're lucky!

Best of luck reaching 28 inches!

Welcome Tulip!  I and others here are also in the "patience while hair is growing" phase.  It's good to have encouragement.

Not yet!  If I am going to go back to colour it'll only be a demi to make it shinier and enrich the colour. (Well that's the plan! Wink)

My short hair goal is to get it past my shoulders.  Once it gets to that stage it's a bit easier, because I'm in love with it and can't easily bring myself to cut it!!

And thank you!  It's a dark brown (around a lvl 3 for any hairdressers here) and has a natural wave.  In the sunlight it goes sheer honey with red tinges which goes nicely with my golden brown eyes and I'd *love* to recreate this with dye so that I don't have to stand around in the sun to get the effect!

If there's anything I can do to help anyone else along this (seemingly forever) path, lemme know! Grin

Thanks chickadees and we're always gonna want what someone else has!!  Personally, I've always wanted straight hair.  Now I've learnt not to fight my natural wave and appreciate it. Smiley

Hi Tulip,

The really nice thing about starting shorter is you'll get long, healthy, beautiful, VIRGIN hair with no damage, unlike other cases where people don't start fresh. I have a few friends who grew out from buzz cuts.. and they're past 30 inches of fabulous hair now.

Welcome Smiley
