Hair gets in the way when...
Jan 2nd, 2006 at 2:15pm

Hi All,

I wanted to ask this question for a while and well, here goes...
How does one prevent damage to ones hair while being intimate with your partner?  I know my hair is not as long as some, but hubby loves to play with it and sometimes I hear it snap at the roots. Years ago, when it was longer, I would put it up in a scruchie but it never stood there long. I tryed hanging it off the side of the bed, but only works for a while.  Any advise would be great.  I just hope this question was not too cheeky to ask? Embarrassed

DISCLAIMER:  I'm not married (YET) but..........

I would think that wearing your hair in a low braid (one or two...French or regular....) would prevent damage to your hair.  Your dear husband would not be able to "pull" at it as easily and thus tear it!!!

Also, maybe a bun tightly secured at your crown.  Maybe a braided bun?

Smiley

I found a french braid works well for containing my hair at night.  As my braid got longer, I started rolling the braid around a soft roller or sock.

tehe....I was thinking that too.  Roll Eyes  This question was asked in Cosmopolitan Magazine a few months back.  They suggested two low pigtail braids.  They also said that a satin pillowcase could help, too.

Yay for you that you have this problem (...and hopefully this is a "frequent" problem  Shocked) !

Okay, here goes my thoughts on the whole issue w/ keeping a G rating...

I LIKE to have my hair down to get messed up, feels sexier than being pulled back.  If it is pulled up, it usually ends up coming back down anyway, whether I take it down or it falls on it's own.  I think a man loves to see hair just hanging, or swinging...or whatever it does when you're  Lips Sealeding! It adds to the whole care-free feeling of what you're doing.  If at anytime he IS being too rough on your hair, you can tell him in a playful way to be gentle with it, or if laying on it's the problem, try fanning out above your head as you lay back.  Keep it out from under you.  Or maybe you can try a bun high up on the head so when you are laying it's not underneath you, you can make it sexy by leaving tendrils down so it's not so neat & librarian looking.

...or you can just take Sakina's advice & let your hair swing like Tarzan!

AMEN, MAGGIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Girl, you freaking rock!

Anyway, yeah, I totally agree with everything Maggie said. Having your hair go everywhere and get a little messed up is part of the experience...and that's something exclusive to people with long hair.

If you're really worried about it, though, and a French braid works for you, by all means, keep using it.  Wink
