I have fairly long hair, it is a complelte mess! After I wash it with pantene pro v shampoo, conditioner, and vitamin treatment it is a complete mess and frizzy and course. Its a little better if i only wet it without this. What can I do to make my hair nice and smooth... I have curly/wavy hair, but i use get it straigt pantene to make it not fro out... what can I do to make it permanantly nice and how many times should I wash it and when and with what... thank you.

Oh, dear.  It is a challenge to have curly/wavy hair.  It just doesn't behave like straight hair.
I've never used pantene, so I can't help w/that.
I recommend applying warm sesame oil to your scalp before washing.  Be very gentle as you massage the scalp-not the hair.
Be sure not to pile your hair on top of your head when you shampoo.  Don't brush your hair, try finger combing it only after it is completely dry.  Let it air dry if you can and don't touch it until it is dry.  Instead of wrapping your wet hair in a towel, gentley squeeze the water out w/a towel.  I know its a little time consuming, but it works.  Do not turn your wet head upside down-this leads to frizz.
There are serums out there for frizzy hair, but I don't mind a little frizz 'cause that comes w/the type of hair.  I put gel in my hair from Ouidad's line.  She makes haircare for curlies and wavies.  I also use Jessicurl's styling products, also made for curlies and wavies.

Good Luck!  Let us know how it works out.

Hi and welcome!

Adding to Sakina's advice:  You might try using a bit of jojoba oil on your hair to help moisturize it which will minimize the frizzies.  You can use the oil on your we/damp hair after shampooing and/or on dry hair at night before bed.

Good luck. I hope these suggestions will help.

Frizzies can also be a sign of breakage from hair ties and rubber bands.  How do you pull your hair back/style it?  Do you blow dry it?

Besides the other great advice you can also try flouring, it is suppose to smooth the hair shafts and lessen frizz. Do this before shampooing/conditioning and oiling.

Mix together 1 cup flour and 1 cup cold water. Put this mixture this on your hair when it is dry, do not pile on your head but keep hair smooth. Leave on for 15-20 minutes, rinse in cold water.

Rinsing in cold water is essential, lukewarm, warm, or hot water will turn the flour into glue which will adhere to hair and scalp and be impossible to get out.

I believe this recipe came from:

http://www.recipegoldmine.com/

If you do a web search for ‘hair flouring’ you can find other information on the subject as well.

Hope this helps!

Your hair sounds similar to mine; it gets dry if I wash it too much and if I mess with it it gets frizzy.  I have a "system" that helps keep it manageable.  It's simple, but these two things seem to have the biggest impact on how my hair does every day.

I only brush my hair before I wash it and I untangle as I wash it; it stays nicest if I don't touch it as it dries.  My hair doesn't tangle too much, so I don't feel the need to brush it much either.

Also, wash every other day at most.  On the weekend I usually don't wash it, like I wash it on Friday and not again until Monday.  It keeps it nicer.  You have to be careful with it though, keep it neat and untangled as much as possible.

Have you read the "Ultimate Guide to Growing Long Hair"?  It has lots of good advice.  Here's a link.
