Tying Up Wet Hair
Apr 2nd, 2006 at 1:23pm

I've been reading all your hair tips and I must say I'm really impressed at the level of care and attention you show your hair. I feel like an absolute slob next to you guys Undecided

So my question is: is it bad for one's hair to tie it up when it's still wet? I hate blow-drying my hair and often twirl my hair up when it's still damp.

Look forward to your replies!

Hi
What I do is take all my hair and put it up in a high ponytail and twirl it into a bun and hold it with a really large clip(alligator)  it's all plastic with no sharp edges to break or tear my hair.  You'd want to treat wet hair very delicately,it's prone to stretching and breaking more readily than dry hair Smiley

I usually put my hair in a loose bun when wet.  I'll take it down every now and then to try to get it to dry more (It would take several days for my hair to dry if left in a bun!).

I think if you stretch your hair and put it up tightly when wet then it will break as it dries and contracts, no?

A loose bun or pony tail with a soft scrunchie shouldn`t hurt it though. If I have to go out or cook or whatever while my hair is still wet I pull it back with a scrunchie.

Hmm... I never really thought about the whole contract-and-break-when-dry thing. Thanks for explaining that, girls. I really appreciate it xx
