I thought you may be interested in this article published in "The Times" on Saturday 20th May.  Yuliya Tymoshenko is a possible future Prime Minister of the Ukraine.  The link follows

Oooo - thank you for the link.  We've posted links about her before.  Amazing hair she has.... sigh.

Interesting that a political article includes the directions - complete with illustrations- for how she does her hair!

Wow I'd love to see what her hair looks like all down. It looks really pretty, especially in that plaited hairstyle! Reminds me of Princess Leia in The Empire Strikes Back!  Roll Eyes
Sadly, my hair isn't yet long enough to do the style with the instructions provided. I normally put my hair into plaited pig-tails and cross them over at the back, pinning the plaits on either side of my head till I reach the top, to create that look. I often have difficulty though securing the ends on the top of my head, without it looking weird  Undecided

Here's the picture from the article.  What amazes me is how thick and even her braid looks.

What amazes me is how thick and even her braid looks.

You're not alone in wondering that either  Shocked
I mean, even if my hair *was* long enough to wrap itself right around my head and back down the other side, I don't think it would maintain perfect thickness all the way around like that....and I bet mine would be lop sided Wink
And she does it in 7 minutes.....woe

I found this picture of her in Feb 2006 with her hair down.  Too bad we can't see just how long it really is.
...

Sept 2004
...

Sept 2003 - hmmm hair is much darker and not nearly as long.

I'm beginning to think she must have a hairpiece she uses or has used.  Here's a picture from June 2001.
...

and now one from Sept 2001.  There is NOWAY her hair grew that much!
...

I don't mind the use of the hairpiece - I like the fact that she is emulating long hair - whether it is hers or not.

I think that first pic of her with the braid wrapping around her head is not her hair.  The color is slightly different and it looks "too perfect" braided.  I might be wrong, but that's my gut feeling.  Her "natural" hair is beautiful though Smiley

That picture beings to mind princess Leia in Enpire Strikes Back. Not so much teh features, but the hair style and brown eyes (though hers are more almond shaped than carrie fishers)

I enjoyed reading this article. Its amazing how hair can make you or break you. lol How to do the Yulia. if thats her real hair it looks pretty in the 2006 pic. If its not real, it still looks pretty. Nothing is greater than the power of long hair.

I agree that she probaby is using a hairpiece, but she is a very beautiful woman....not what you would expect in politics!  Her hair looks great with that braid around her head.   Wonder how long a braid it would take for such a hairdo?

Well I've tried that style myself with the instructions given, but my hair isn't long enough, so I think you'd need probably hair about 35" long to accomplish it, I'm thinking. The hair style definitely reminds me of Carrie Fisher's in Star Wars, and I love this website: http://starfilly7.cjb.net/ of a girl with beautiful, thick, long hair to die for, and she has directions as how to do all Princess Leia's hairstyles, including the one that looks very similar to the one Yuliya's wearing.
