Sir Rat's Hair Raising Tails of Tribulation.
Jun 6th, 2006 at 3:01am

Greetings and welcome to my dream world. I can't say I have a lot of hair tails to share. They go like this:

I get longer hair that gets to the bottom of my neck in back, over the ears on the side and in my eyes in the front. My wife doesn't like me to have longer hair, nor my mother or Sandra at work. Think early 70's styles here. I want to have longer hair like I did in High school but everyone thinks I need to conform.

So, about every 6 months or so, it get's trimmed where my neck, ears, and eyes are visible again. Wife, mother, and Sandra at work rejoice at my conforming to their ways.

Very boring. So I'd like to present some reading a bit more interesting. Here, in this journal, I'd like to document some of my wild and sometimes torturous nightmares. Maybe someone can shed some light on this uncontrolled working of the mind. Yes, hair is sometimes a prominent part of my dreams.

So here it is, Sir Rat's Hair Raising Tails of Tribulation. Shocked

The first dream I'd like to document happened Sunday morning. Time was about 6:30 am.

I woke with the absolute worst migrane of my life. My entire head hurt so bad, I felt like I needed to vomit. My neck hurt so bad I could barely turn it. My back hurt all the way to my waist. My right side was numb. I was freezing cold. Actually, I though I may be having a stroke.

So, the dream that seemed to cause this latest migraine:

I was in (I believe) New York City. Firey balls from the sky reigned down on the city. I was able to escape to a tunnel trian (subway?) with a girl with black curly hair. I believe others are present, but not significant in the dream, other than the driver.

In the tunnel train, I could feel the shock waves of the city being destroyed. The lights of the tunnel dimmed and flashed. I held on to this girl with the black curly hair.

Eventually, this tunnel train surfaced in what appears as a country setting. I could see behind balls of fire burning in all the horizons, but the immediate country scene was still peaceful.

The train continues. We go through a small town where buildings are destroyed. I notice the destruction as being heavy on the tops and lighter on the bottom.

"Bombs." I tell this girl with the curly black hair.
"This is the end." she says.

"I can go only as far as fuel will last. That's it." says the driver of the train.

*Wake up with horrid migrane.*

Even if you're not, er, allowed to do what you want with your hair, this journal should be rather intersting, Sir Rat! I'm not sure what that dream means, but I really hope you don't have dream-induced migranes very often. I think I would have freaked out if I woke up with a migrane and major pains in some parts of my body while another part felt numb!

My non-professional interpretation of your dream, Sir Rat.......

Your migraine started while you were sleeping.  The pounding and throbbing that comes with the migraine were the bombs falling.  Being underground represented your being asleep.    The driver's statement was referring to how long you could remain asleep.  The only piece I can't fit in is the girl with the black curly hair.  Maybe she was your dream guide?  Grin

I hope you don't have too many more nights like this one.

Greetings: I am glad to report being migraine free for an entire week. I only had one minor headache that dissapated while weeding the garden.

Had only some minor insignificant dreams this week. One of me with Christmas lights. One out walking in the yard, ect. Figures, I start to document all the horrid phases of sleep and they go away.....

The most significant dream to record was Sunday, today, at 12:30 PM, (yes, a short one hour nap.) My pool was full of dogs playing with a ball. It ends when the phone rings and I'm staring at a pool full of dog hair. Possible cause: I had to install a new pool filter Saturday afternoon.

Robin, I've gone nowhere in building the new bike. The pool filter took most of the afternoon and I slept in till 10 that morning. I did a little stress relieving art last night. We had major amounts of rain last night into today with heavy lightning and thunder. According to my crude rain guage, (the pool), we got over three inches of rain in 12 hours.

A pool full of dogs playing ball - that's a sight to see!  But, yech, the hair would be a mess to clean up.

I have faith that you will get the bike built. Keep at it!

I had four distinct dreams this morning between 6:50 AM and 7:45 AM.

The most significant was where I was a bystander with another who had a hunting dog. An animal, half rabbit and half something else ran into a hole. The hunting dog chased it and entered the hole to capture it. The person went to the opening where a wolf stuck his head out and growled. Soon, a second wolf head appeared.

With both of these wolves growling from the hole, the hunting dog stuck his head out and whined under the two wolf heads.

My lone part in this (adventure?) "It looks like this guy just lost his dog." This was the last of the series and most remembered.

Very weird and migrane inducing.

One other, I think it was the first, is one of those really odd ones where I am that woman with black hair. I'm walking to a Jeep Cherokee parked alone on a lot. As I open the door with my key, someone forces me into the Jeep. The other door opens and I struggle to both shut and lock the passenger door and force the other attacker out the driver door. This one is a re-occuring dream with similar plots, (ie. carjacking), but usually a different car and different levels of force being used against me.

I have no idea why I have that re-occuring plot. The last time was the same night I had the shark dream waiting for the 747 to sink a couple months back.  Shocked

OK, the shortest of them... I thought I woke up, think it was about 7:30. There was this blonde girl, possibly mid teens. Her hair was dirty and she was in a state of dissillusion. Her eyes were dailated. Her expression is one that I would describe as horror. She wore a white tank top that was filthy. She told me she saw the 'Johnson torture' and started to cry. The dream only lasted as long as it took for her to say her piece. I woke sitting up against the headboard.

Wow, Sir Rat, I read your first dream and it was like reading something that I could have written myself, about my own dreams....or nightmares.

The dream entailing fireballs in the sky, and bombings, and having someone or myself make me aware that it is "the end" is nothing short of a recurrent nightmare for me.  Often times in those nightmares I am actually faced with my last moment, my last breath of life, and it usually involves me being engulfed by one of those fireballs from the sky.  I stand in the middle of the fire, I'm completely engulfed, and in a wierd, sleepy way I can feel the heat and pain of it, this is always my waking point.

It puzzles me why I have such thoughts in my head while I'm sleeping, because I know that I don't think any such thoughts during my waking hours, I can't understand it! ???  Most people would never believe some of the horrible, gory nightmares I have, they would just never guess it of me...I wouldn't guess it of me!  But they're there, and they are active and vivid as can be, and they're in my head.  I think this may be what causes much of my sleep walking and talking...

Sir Rat: Pardon this bold suggestion, but I think you should spend the night at a sleep evaluation clinic pronto! It sounds like you have a serious case of sleep apnea. That's not good for you or your lady rat, whom you probably keep awake and occasionally hurt.

My former husband had a mild form of this disorder and would have strange, terrible nightmares...some of which would make him leap out of bed & just start freaking out when he was not entirely conscious. Other times, he literally attacked me in his sleep.

That's one more reason this guy is my former husband.

You really should see a doctor.

You've hit it. I have this disorder. I fall asleep during the day anytime I sit still. But so far, I have not hurt anyone. She goes to bed long before I and gets a few good hours before I come to bed.

The medical fix is a couple thousand for the sleep clinic and diagnosis for something I know I have. The breathing machine is another expense. Generally, I avoid hospitals because they never let me leave.

The practical fix is to get back under 210 lbs. When I am in the lower weight bracket, she says I sleep better and I notice the blood pressure is down. But the dreams are always there and have been from youth.

Wow, so you fall asleep while sitting still?  Oh, I've heard of that, that goes by another name, doesn't it...something with an N maybe?  Hmm, can't think of it now.

You know, it's funny what you just make click in my head when I read the part where you said you've had the dreams since youth.  I've been trying to blame my nightmares, sleep walking / talking on the stress in my life, but I can clearly remember having such vivid dreams and nightmares, and the sleep walking and talking from a very young age...maybe around 4 or 5?

There were several accounts of me wandering in my sleep, usually my mother or sister would find me and take me back to bed.  More like I would wake them up some how, and they'd have to take me back to bed! Tongue  I still do it to this very day.  I am even aware of when I am dreaming sometimes and am learning how to control them, my husband thinks this is very wierd!

The last time I was acting out in my sleep (about a month ago), I sat up off the couch, grabbed a lit jar candle and turned it upside down, spilling the hot wax all over our coffee table.  The candle burned my hand, which kind of woke me up, but not enough to pull me out of dream state.  I realized what I did the next day when my husband was looking in horror at our poor coffee table & I told him what I remembered doing.  He's going to have to shackle me soon!

Narcolepsy, maggie.  Smiley

And yes, Sir Rat, shedding a few pounds makes sleep a lot more restful because your body isn't working overtime to churn sugars from your food and the like...
