I just got back from the beach, and between the salt and chlorine and sun, my hair is fried. I used conditioner at the beach, and I'm continuing it, as usual, at home, but it doesn't seem to be doing the trick. Does anyone have any suggestions on hoe to get my hair back to normal.

Conditioners can help but you may need more than that. You might try oiling your hair to restore the moisture. A heavy oiling of damp hair, then covered with a warm towel so that it can really sink in can do wonders for your hair.
A deep conditioning might also be in order. There are some great home receipes in the
Hair Care Recipe Cookbook
.
I'm curious where the chlorine comes from at the beach?

Ouidad just came out with a leav-in conditioner specifically for the beach and the pool. Maybe you want to check it out at

Clarify.
Salt, chlorine, conditioners, treatments, oils, leave-in's all build up on your hair over time and leave a film. The best treatment in the world won't do you any good if it can't get past the barrier of everything that's left behind to actually penetrate your hair.
Washing with a clarifying shampoo and/or vinegar rinse
before
all of that treating, oiling, conditioning, etc. should be liberating and helpful. Take it from someone who grew up near the beach.
