Oct 4th, 2006 at 2:30am

'ello, ladies and gents!

i was curious if anybody had ever tried or heard anything about nioxin. i've heard from several sources ( hairdresser included) that it is supposed to make hair grow faster. i'm not sure this is possible.........any thoughts?

Sorry, Ophelia, I have not tried nor heard anything about nioxin.

I prefer to go the tried and true route-regular exercise, good eating + supplements and scalp massages with oil.

I don't know if any of it makes hair grow faster, but since its healthy it couldn't hurt.

I don't know how the chemical route is supposed to help.

hi, again.

you're probably right about the "tried and true route", sakina.  this stuff does make my hair soft and shiny though, and keeps it moisturized- so i'll probably stick with it for awhile. until i spot something else i absolutely MUST try  Grin. thanks again, sakina.

I've not used Nioxin myself, but as I understand what it is supposed to do, it helps stimulate the scalp and minimize clogged hair folicles that can cause thinning of the the hair.

hi!

well, that makes sense..... i've always seen it marketed as a thickening-of-thinning-hair agent. the product itself doesn't actually claim to make hair grow faster- that's just what i've heard. thanks for the input, bikerbraid.

I have heard many rumors that nioxin can make hair grow faster so i tried it didn't really seem to make a differance but my hair was in great condtion from nioxin, it helps keep your scalp in good shape too so any one who has itchy/flaky scalp can use this with great results and it is not just for fine hair they also make a product for coarse hair that is SUPER moistrizing, but the smell is not the best in the world my hubbby used to complain that i smelled like wet dog when i used it  Tongue
